Logic behind spawning with one Pulse Grenade?

You can tell me I suck all you want. But I’m pretty sure pulse grenades are just as good in the right hands as frags/plasma. No need to limit them

If you can logically explain this to me, well geez, I don’t think you can.
They are not even that good, at least not good enough to spawn with only one.
If anything, you should spawn with one plasma grenade.

What is the point of getting one pulse grenade, but 2 plasma and frags? I don’t see them do anything “overpowered” in Spartan Ops,Campaign, or MP.

Monitors, what do you think? Seems stupid to me.

AND WHY HAS THE MONTHLY CHALLENGE BEEN THE SAME FOR TWO MONTHS? Whoever is doing challenges, and whoever said it was a good idea to spawn with one pulse grenade, need to get spanked. Hard.

There is no logic. I’ve made similar thread few days ago.

343i wanted to make Halo a 343i game. They did very well in that aspect.

I agree, players should spawn with two Pulse Grenades rather than just one.
I also agree that only one Plasma Grenade should be given off spawn.

Spawning with one, compared to two for others doesn’t seem very logical to me I think.

But they’re not that weak… I’m good with them.

I have never killed someone with those. I agree.

  • Not one, but two Pulse Grenades at start.
  • Not two, but one Plasma Grenades at start.

I think it’s because a set up with a kill is almost too easy. Two pulse grenades if placed properly create a huge area of denial and can easily take someone out without even trying. In addition to that if they’re guarding a flag or a hill, you can flush them out without even firing your primary once.

I personally would love to see two pulse grenades, but I’m not sure of the consequences that holds.

Nah. One plasma grenade if placed properly creates a casualty  Besides, there are 2 pulse granedes in ordnances, and yet, they’re not overpowered. Not even close.

yea, I agree it makes absolutely no sense. The worst grenade in the game, and they give you only one?.. I feel like the reason behind this is that the people that play tested this game internally were absolutely horrible, and a lot of their feedback was considered when “balancing” this game. They probably were getting killed by the damn things, or just feared them much more than they should have, which resulted in 343i saying to themselves “huh! Maybe we should only allow them to have one of these monsters!”

I really can’t think of another reason beyond that. Please up the count to 2… There’s no reason not to.

Made a thread about this a few weeks ago. There really is no reason for us to only spawn with 1 of them. If anything, plasma’s should be given the 1 count at loadout.

Day = Made. LOLOLOL

I Think the reasoning behind it only being one is so that there’s no way people can start with three. Just imagine playing any objective game type against a team full of people spawning with three of those bad boys each.

It is strange but they do a great job at holding players back when you need the 2 second window

He actually makes a pretty good point…

They would be more useful if they were faster at exploding. But you can run around them or thrusterpack. I’m pretty sure if you add the Grenadier package you spawn with two. I’ve had it and they’re still plumb useless.

Things like this make me question how “hard” they worked on this game. There are SO MANY stupid little things like this that make me dislike the entire game. I could make a list and go on and on. But its not like anything will be done. 343 seems to be composed of selfish corporate bums.

They’re on map quite often so I guess I’m not as bothered by it. But stickies should be 1 count.

I don’t see how having 3 pulse grenades would ruin an objective game type. Have 3 plasma/frags would still make things tough. In fact, even tougher then pulse grenades IMO

I believe it was more of a, “We’d rather be safe than sorry.” kind of idea.

Easy, no one uses them correctly and so they wonder why you spawn with only 1. Pulse grenade is basically a frag grenade without any bounce and explodes instantly on contact. If you chuck the grenade and they get caught in the initial explosion it instantly drops them to one shot faster than any other grenade. These threads remind me of everyone who didn’t understand that spike grenades in Halo 3 destroyed kids around corners. You threw it at the wall and it would explode into havoc on everything downrange of it. In addition pulse grenades wreck vehicles on the initial explosion. Try testing out why the way you’re using something isn’t effective instead using the forums as your -Yoink!-.
