locusts auto switching to buildings

i find it really annoying when you go into locusts and your intention is to use there range to micro verse units.

well if your anywhere near a building they immediately stop hitting the opposing units and go for the building. this is stupid i was in a match, had 15 locusts and lost them all because they stopped attacking the 8 cyclops near his base and immediately lost all 15.

please 343 remove the auto attack switch, this really needs to be removed it so frustrating. they should be hitting the units before the base not the other way around.

well they’re supposed to be building killers so…

I disagree. The fact that the units automatically target down what they counter is what makes mixed armies so potent.

You only miss out on less than a second of damage when they switch to a building anyway.

I don’t really see a problem with this, just watch your army

Usually if you tell them to attack a unit they usually finish off that unit type before switching but huh.

If so yeah that’s pretty bad

This is smart AI, just like reavers will target air first and snipers target infantry first.

But don’t worry there’s an easy workaround, press X on the Cyclops and inmediately move them away, there you just changed the target.

You used units that are countered by cyclopes… that right there is where you went wrong bud.

That’s why you build more than one unit type… so your other units can guard your locusts while they finish off the buildings. I actually like how they implemented that feature, keeps counter units efficient and effective.

It’s meant to be this way, units automatically attack their counter if nearby. Rethink using locusts if you don’t want to destroy buildings
