Plus it fits into the covenant vehicle design specs. I would agree that the top of the locust is design like the banshee and the bottom like a scarab. Its weapon is beam-based which would be a first for halo first-person shooter vehicles.
Yes! this would be amazing. Would be great to see a few Mantis variants for Halo 5 with maybe 3 different loadouts with skins to tell them apart and same for the Locust if it is used. The variety this would bring with all the other vehicles in BTB 32 players.
Need that space battle going on over head and make runs from the capitol ships to bring new vehicles down for the ground fight.
Mantis with variants? loud outs? There should be one solid variant. Mantis with AA and machine gun almost the same as Halo 4 variant. Locust should have a beam and a secondary fire which is good against vehicles? Heres a list of what vehicles should be available in Halo 5.
Minotaur: a melee based mech with a heavy weapon; or a larger promethean infantry unit dwarfing the promethean knight and covenant hunter. (light-ground)
Chimera Tank: a incendiary tank with a detractor pulse. (light-ground)
Harpy: a fast flying with twin-link hard light repeaters while a passenger shoots the heavy AA cannon. (air)
Detractor pulse is an ability to eject hijackers of vehicles making the forerunner tank really unique and able to go up close and personal.
The Locust would be a great edition. They wouldn’t really have to change it all to much from its Halo Wars iteration; high shields with low armour, with a special ability that enables the player to drain the shielding for more firepower. The cannon could work on the overheating system, like most plasma weapons.
Wouldn’t the Gorgon be a more appropriate counterpart to the Mantis? I’m not saying that I don’t like the Locust, but the Gordon is more similar to it.
However, regardless of that, the Locust was one of my favorite vehicles to use in Halo Wars, though it may seem to be a tad bit overpowered in it’s current form.

I suppose. You’re right that they are more similar in shape no question but it looks like the Gorgon could end up as a Mantis clone with needles instead of arms.
They would probably copy and paste the stomp attack and it would just end up sucking.
You could add different Covenant weapons sure but it’ll just end up moving around and behaving in a similar way to the Mantis.
At least with a Locust you know your getting diversity but this is a great idea too.
> More Vehicles, as long as they are all balanced.
>
> Is great. There is no reason why every Vehicle that has been in a Halo game, could not return.

> Halo 4, has the least amount of Vehicles in any Halo, and it is the latest Halo. WTF

Halo ce has 4 vehicles. Halo 4 has 7. So no, that’s wrong.
