It’s not exactly the Locus helmet right? Locus is the helmet’s skin isn’t it? Really confused on this one.
I believe Locust IS the helmet. Possible shout-out to Epic Games?
I was told that it was just a skin of the helmet, and that the helmet itself will be in the game regardless. I’m not sure though, it’s something I want confirmed too.

Mighty Ape explicitly refers to the skins as “Raptor in game Armour Skin” and “Pulse Armour Skin” whereas it only refers to the “Locus Helmet”
Also in the image with the preorder bonuses it has “Armour: Venator. Skin: Raptor” and “Armour: Gungnir. Skin: Pulse” under the skins, whereas it only has “Helmet: Locus” next to the helmet
I REALLY hope that helmet is in the game. Its so damn awesome.

Not like that. To me, the Locus helmet does look like something the Locust Horde in Gears of War would wear. Wouldn’t be the first developer shout out in a Halo game, EOD looks a lot like the Helghast helmet from Killzone.

Wouldn’t doubt it since they wanted to make chief a playable easter egg in gears 3.
It has nothing to do with gears of war, in that series its called “locust”, here its called “locus”

On both the product page for Halo 4 and for Halo 4 Limited Edition, if you scroll down slightly to where it says about the “Special Offer”, you’ll find where they refer to them as such.
The image can be found to the left where it is the top image, or else it can also be found here.

If it is just the skin then it still doesn’t give the name of the actual helmet though, so I’m not sure.

Yeah, it kind of helps if you see the image of just the helmet/skin, not an image with every thing that comes with the preorder, because then you can’t read the “fine” print.
Plus, I do believe I either read a tweet, or a message in a weekly update from frankie or BS Angel stating non of the armor is a preorder bonus, the only thing that’s in the preorder bonus is skins, all armor can be unlocked in game.

True, guess I was just too busy focused on the bit where it said “Helmet: Locust”. Oh yea, but I always thought that just referred to the actual armour sets such as Gungnir/Hazop/etc but not this since it was just the helmet.
But yea, I think you’re right that it is just the skin since, after looking at the customization options at RTX, I don’t think any of the helmets come with a skin attached to them. So this would mean we’d be getting both the helmet and the skin, two seperable customization options, which the retailers would have probably advertised as two different pre-order bonuses.

It also says “*Helmet skin colours are customisable”. To me this looks like just a customisable skin for the Locus helmet.
Which I am happy about because my LE doesn’t include the helmet/skin and I really want it.

NP, before BS Angel or who ever posted that comment on preorder bonuses, I thought in order to get the locust helmet, I’d have to preorder it from mightyape.
