As someone who dearly misses some of the better maps from the old days, I’ve spent countless hours in Forge recreating Lockout/Blackout. Since the scale and building blocks are different from H2-H4, this map is based on the Blackout scale from H3.
I made the lines and angles as close as possible to Blackout. Map based weapons are slightly different (no SMG, replaced with Suppressor) due to the changes in game mechanics, but I’ve kept it as close as possible with everything else.
I have titled my map Freakout 2.0 (1.0 was a failure) and it is located on my fileshare under Impact variants. My GamerTag is CANADIANxCHAOS.
I have spent a bit of time tweaking the Game Options as well to create a classic slayer gametype for the map. Here’s what I have set;
Start with Infinity Slayer;
-50 points to win
-30 min time limit (have a little more fun that way)
Under General Settings;
-Map Loadouts set to Enabled
-Loadout Usage set to Game Loadouts #
-Be sure to set all Game Loadouts to Assault Rifle and 2 Frags. No secondary weapon, no AA, tactical, or support packages. #
5 Second Respawn timer
Ordinance Settings; (here’s where I’m having trouble)
-Disable Initial, Random and Personal Ordinance settings
-Point Requirement set to 800 *
-Increase Multiplier is to 0% *
All five Loadouts I pre-selected will appear in game at the Loadout Screen, but with plasma or pulse grenades where I have set frags. Also, there will always be two loadouts that I didn’t select. One is an AR with a Hardlight Sield, a magnum, mobility and ammo perks, and the other is a DMR with hologram, magnum, aa efficiency and awareness. I can’t seem to get rid of them. thinkng at this point that there is no way to. I dunno.
- For some reason, this is not always completely eliminating Ordinance Drops. No idea on how to get it sorted.
I’m looking for some feedback from the Community on how this map plays, looks, and feels.
tl;dr
-Replica of Blackout from H3
-Can’t figure out how to make a pure classic slayer gametype to go with the map.
-Check it out! Add CANADIANxCHAOS > File Share > Freakout 2.0 > Drop back with some feedback.
