Now we’re talking, is this even the same guy? Its a freaking upgrade to the previous voice acting.
I’ve never had a problem with Coulter’s voice acting but yes, he sounded frickin mean and awesome in that trailer
Solid step up from “durr that’s not the official job title” or “lol we’re talking about trust”
Seriously, It doesn’t sound the same person.
When he first speaks I honestly thought they had a different voice actor.
The Locke trailer gave me some serious hope for the character. His voice acting prior to the trailer was my only gripe, as all of his previous appearances have been unimpressive, unimposing, and underperformed. But the acting in the trailer was nothing short of fantastic. Let’s hope his performance in Halo 5 is more like the trailer and less like Nightfall and the Arbiter cutscenes.
Th reason he sounds different is because both trailers have been put a gravelly audio filter. But I agree, great body acting, even if the armour robs him of some of his tools.
If you want my honest opinion. This is in fact feels like another person acting. This is the series from Steven Spielberg. This has to be.
Maybe he took a few lessons from Steve Downes and Kieth David on how to sound like one bad mama jama.

Ahhhh no because it’s a Halo 5 Guardians trailer. It’s even stated on the video itself. The setting is in that concept art colony city we saw a while back too which, unsurprisingly, was for H5G. There are really no pointers that indicate this is for a TV show except that it’s live action. But movies are live action, reality shows are live action, music videos are live action. video game trailers are also live action, especially Halo trailers. This is definitely for a video game. But the voice actor might be different. No one really knows at this point.
Sounds like he’s been through a lot by the time he gets to the moment portrayed in the #huntthetruth trailer. I like the idea of his character changing drastically due to the experiences he faces while on the hunt for chief. Gives it a real Apocalypse Now feel.
Chief is Col. Kurtz, Locke is Capt. Willard.
I think I need to re-read Conrad’s Heart of Darkness before the game launches.
Fully agreed, the more often I see the trailers the more I actually even prefer Locke’s voice.
MC. Badass voice. Check.
Locke. Badass voice. Check.
Arbiter. Badass voice. Double-check.
I never had a problem with his voice acting to begin with. He had to act the way he did around the elites because they completely allies yet. Locke can’t just be around the Arbiter and Rtas like a sarcastic moron. He played both trailers great if you ask me. If there’s anything that is going to drag this game down it is going to be the writing because the voice talent is all there.

Nobody beats Keith David.

Exactly, I think it turned out wicked.
Agreed! So much better! He was actually awful in the cinematic with arby…
Yeah, the voice acting from the Halo 2 Anniversary cut scenes was god awful…this however, now this was amazing. Same for the Chief.
He almost has a Bain-like rasp in his voice. The emotion, the delivery, the feels. My god, please post edit the game to make it sound like this if it doesn’t.
