People have theorized about who these Spartans are. It’s obvious they must be Spartan-IVs. To be honest, the most logical possibilities of who these Spartans are, are characters we’ve seen in Halo: Nightfall. Agent Locke is a given. But the other three logical answers are Talitha Macer who survived the event’s of Nightfall with Locke, as well as Mason Hundley and Jordan Gaines. Although Hundley and Gaines did not take take part in the Alpha Shard mission due to their infection during the Sedra attack. It is likely they still survived the infection, and are also still alive. If they are, it’s likely they’re still working with Locke.
Although I personally thought Nightfall wasn’t very good, I’ve accepted Locke and Macer as the most likely member of the team. I didn’t have a problem with Hundley or Gaines, but then again they were only present for about 3 whole minutes or less. So the other two Spartan’s in the group I’d like to see are Edward “Eddie” Buck and Kojo “Romeo” Agu They were made Spartan-IVs in the book Halo: New Blood. Avoiding spoilers, Taylor Henry “Dutch” Miles, Michael “Mickey” Crespo, and the Rookie are not possible candidates (Although I’d like to see them more then any other member of Locke’s team.)
I’m interested in what other characters people would like to see take the roles of these Spartans. Who do you want to see? What theories have you come up with.
I’m not played with it cuz I haven’t X1, but of course I watched the cutscenes, so…
I’m ok with Macer and Romeo would be in the team, but I don’t want Buck as a part of Lockes team. The cause why I say this, is I think Buck has more experience than Locke (however we don’t know much about him, but don’t care), and that’s why I would say Buck should be the team leader.
Anyway what about Dare? Was she in the New Blood? Just yes or no answer. She also could be in Lockes team, I think.

I don’t think she was. I’d hate to see her again too. Yeah, I think Buck is a better leader then Locke too, but Locke is ONI so it’s his Op.
Locke- Macer- Buck- Romeo or DareOn Locke’s team. They seem like the best candidates since a lot of us will be familiar with the latter three, and it spares 343 from having to craft two new characters from scratch and allow us to get better acquainted with Locke and Macer. Those two have only played a significant role in Nightfall so far.
I initially thought the (presumably) female S-IV was Macer from Nightfall, but now that I’ve read New Blood I’m starting to wonder if it could be Veronica Dare (she is ONI, after all) along with Buck and Romeo as the other two. That seems more likely and enjoyable than Macer and two unknown, undeveloped ONI spooks.

Heck, I just don’t like Veronica Dare. In fact, I even like Sarah Palmer more then her.
Buck and Romeo are good candidates for being in Locke’s team, possibly Macer but she’s with Sedra colonial guard, then there’s Dare however she’s a captain in ONI section one and Locke is a Lt. commander.

It’s most likely Buck and Romeo. Those 2 are spartans and have worked for ONI before. it would also be odd for 343 to mention them becoming spartans and then do nothing with them.

At the end of Halo New Blood Buck mentions he would like transfer to a team that he wasn’t in charge of that’s about the largest hint you can get that he is being put on Locke’s team. I doubt Romeo wouldn’t want to be sent to the same team as well.
