Locke's Team Is A Mirror Version of Blue Team

From the looks of it so far, Locke’s team in Halo 5 is a mirror version of Master Chief’s Blue Team.

Why do I think this?

Well, Master Chief and Locke are the leaders of their teams.

Fred and Buck were supposed to be leaders, but aren’t because neither wanted to be.

Linda and Romeo are excellent marksmen.

And as for Kelly and Tanaka/Macer, well, I don’t know… But still!

I know the Master Chief/Locke and Fred/Buck similarities are minor, but still similar either way.

> And as for Kelly and Tanaka/Macer, well, I don’t know… But still!

Kelly is proficient at CQB and CQC. Due to her speed and ability to quickly eliminate any distance between herself and opponents, she prefers to arm herself with close-range weaponry such as the M90 shotgun.

the the female on Lockes team has a SMG (CQB weapon) confirming your theory.

Between Kelly’s speed and Fred’s excellent knife “swordsmanship”, who do you think is the better CQB artist? Although Kelly’s official description is the scout, while Fred is officially the close-quarters specialist…

I wonder if Kelly is capable of flash-stepping, lol. :stuck_out_tongue:

When you say mirror, are you talking about the evil version from the mirror universe? That would explain why Locke has a goatee.

And why Buck plans on assassinating Locke. XD

In all seriousness though, I didn’t mean it like that. I just mean like how they’re similar to each other.

Good observation OP! But Chief’s team > Locke’s enough said lol. Your theory makes total sense.

I’m guessing Buck is the one that looks like ODST armor and that Romeo is the one with the smoother looking Hunter helmet. Tanaka/Mercer is obviously the Red one. But remember the Halo 2 Anniversary epilogue? They have the light up colored streaks on their armor just like Locke. This is just so awesome to see all of these old characters coming back. I really hope none of them get killed off.

Sorry if this is a dumb question: but how do we know both Buck and Romeo are part of this team? There’s only one set of ODST armor. Also, can we be sure that Tanaka/Macer are part of the team? (I’m downloading Escalation #17 right now, so hopefully I’ll learn about this Tanaka)

OT: Damn, I wish that either Jun were battle-ready or Jorge wasn’t dead. With Jorge being a Spartan II (if I’m not mistaken?), that would quite an epic way to balance out Locke’s team.

Excellent observation. It ties back to the first Halo 5 image of Locke and John mirroring each other.

Both Buck and Romeo were being reassigned to a new team at the end of New Blood. And the ODST armor is MJOLNIR GEN2, not necessarily ODST armor. I’m assuming the ODST MJOLNIR is Buck and the one on the far left is Romeo. Also Jun would be awesome on Locke’s team. I still don’t get why he’s not fighting anymore, he’s only 34.

I wonder if Locke is going to have some issues with his team?

Buck is a free thinker - he is going to question the motives and purpose of hunting the chief.

And look at the stances and attitude of the two teams.

Blue team look all determined and focused but Locke’s team look more undecided and possibly defensive/uncommitted.

We can’t be sure about any members of Locke’s team (except Locke). But it was stated that Buck and Romeo are still in the same squad, so if one’s in, they’re both in. Plus there’s the rationale that adding two established characters from a much-loved title like ODST would help fans warm to Locke.

Tanaka we’re less sure about, but it’d be odd if she was characterized so heavily only to be left out.

so commander musa says at the end of new blood that buck and romeo will have to be reassigned but theres no indication of them staying together

Image for comparison?

Locke’s team are spartan-IVs they are just as strong as S-IIs, what gives the S-IIs an edge is experience. Except Bucks been in the Army about 30 years and Locke was one of ONI’s top agents. A fight between these two teams would be far from one sided.

Getting so excited for this game I can’t wait. It will take all my will power not to blow $250 on the Limited Collectors Edition

it is like old team and new team

i’m pretty sure lockes team will be buck, macer and tanaka.

kinda
