Calm down Sally. It’s most likely going to be ODST style. Follow Chiefs footsteps, relive his story, and search for him. We will probably play small bits as Locke and once we make it through the Locke mission and see a “clue” we will play the Chief mission to see what actually happened. There is no way they would have a Halo game, with Master Chief, and not let us play as him. That would be foolish and stupid. They know that and they even said MC was a big part of the story and we were going to play as MC here. Do some research before you make a huge post next time.

Not a chance I won’t be getting it if they do this. Well that’s a piss poor reason to not buy a game because you may not be able to play as the Chief.
OT: Not being able to play as the Chief isn’t the end of the world for me. While I enjoy playing as him, I also think playing someone else is a good change of pace. Mixes things up a little.

How can so many people turn 343 saying “a primary character” to: “OMG WE AREN’T PLAYING AS MC IN HALO 5”?
Cortana was a primary character, Arbiter was a primary character; just like Locke is now a primary character.

If a new main character is going to be playable and introduced I don’t think it should be part of the master chief saga. I think 343 have still done a great job in halo 4 and it is their first so I am hoping 5 will be even better but I think if agent locke is going to be the main character it should be in the style of halo 3: odst. legend of Zelda, Metroid prime great games that still keep their main characters for years which is why gamers keep coming back to them. im sure we haven’t heard everything the 343 has planned and hopefully it might be like halo 2 with the arbiter to save it. I hope that my trust in 343 doesn’t come to disappointment. I will still buy the game for I love halo but replacing the master chief even for half the game is a big call that I hope 343 get right and will improve on the already great halo 4.
