With the majority of the missions in Halo 5 being played as Locke, I get the feeling 343i really is planning on phasing out the Chief. Is anyone else afraid the Chief will no longer be the main character or even a playable character in the future?
They did say Cheif’s story will end
I would bet on H6 having a three way split with MC, Locke, and another character’s party, maybe Arby, Palmer, or another new and different character like playable Mendicant Bias . Halo 7 will be all MC.
I guess it has to end one way or another. And I’d rather see Halo continue on following a new Hero, rather than end with the Master Chief’s story. It’s just going to be hard to let the Chief go.

I honestly didn’t mind playing as Locke at all, but I have to admit that the Chief should have received a bit more screen time.
At least a 3:2 ratio if you ask me.

Since chief belonged to Bungie for the first trilogy, and Locke belongs to 343, yes I would say they will eventually stop Chiefs story. This is another trilogy so maybe it will continue until the end of 6. That would be Halo 4, H5, and H6 of the 343 trilogy. I don’t expect chief to be around after this trilogy.
Overall that is fine with me. Hopefully they at least send him out with a bang.
