Locke should be in spin off Halos

I, along with many other Halo players did not like how Agent Locke was in 12 out of 15 missions in Halo 5. What i learned out of Agent Locke is that he would be a nice main character in his own game or own trilogy outside of the Reclaimer Saga. I whole heartedly believe any game for the Reclaimer Saga should mostly be about Master Chief and his fight against Cortana or the didact or whatever for now on. Agent Locke is no Master Chief, But Agent Locke has promise of being a good character to be a main character in halo games like Reach but not have it be a prequel. I would like to have Agent Locke and red team fight off the remaining covenant/flood/pramethians etc. and obviously have a good motive and story behind it. I think it could be good for Halo. I would even go as far as every 3 years make a game with Master Chief and Blue team. and 3 years later make a Spin off game or spin off trilogy with Agent Locke and Red team. It would prolong Master Chief’s relevancy in gaming, and also make it fresher and have it be an even bigger event for Halo and Microsoft when Master Chief is back. What do you guys think?

Yeah, you know how ok people would have been with this game if it was labelled as Halo 4: Guardians? Kind of like ODST, probably would have been better received and we could look forward to the MC in the real Halo 5

Red Team? Red Team is a team of Spartan-IIs. You’ll see Red Team in Halo Wars 2 later this year. Locke leads Fireteam Osiris.

Blue team is spartan II. Red team which is fireteam osiris are spartan IV’s.

OP your basic idea sounds quite interesting, but before they could publish such a spin off they have to put some love into Osiris’s dialogue and their on-screen behavior… I really like the backstory’s of each osiris member (except Tanaka) but how they were shown on screen didn’t do them any favor. Locke had these lines that should make him sound BA but they just sounded flat, and they all just talked like they wanted to sound cool and don’t get me started on this whole thing that they always use the word Spartan when they adress each other. I mean they all know their names, they know what they are so why don’t call them by their names or ranks? It just gets boring after some time and sounds like greys anatomy kind of series where everyone calls each other doctor.

By the way OP: As the person I quoted said red team is a Spartan II team so this fireteam name would be blocked for them. They just have to stick with osiris

Wrong. This is Red Team: http://www.halopedia.org/Red_Team

The Spartans don’t have formal ranks analogous to the rest of the UNSC Armed Forces. All of them simply go by the title of “Spartan”.

ya i do agree that their lines were kinda just there to sound like they were tough guys hunting master chief. But I think there is enough people who would be willing to give my idea a try in terms of locke and his team going into a spin off just because. Master Chief doesn’t need to die at least so soon. I would try to make Halo feel fresh for the gamers again with the 3 years on for chief and 3 years for locke. I think it could A. Help Halo as a franchise go onward for as long as Microsoft and 343 wishes/plans for it to be which i think they said around 20-30 years whether that be games/movies/ etc. so lets say the Reclaimer Saga is in for 2 more games after Halo 6. It wouldnt be for another 15 years from now until Master Chief’s story is over With 2 spin offs from Locke’s team. and then after that, they can pursue any other spin off they so choose.

Oh okay I missed out on that one :\ I just thought of Blue Team and the Spartan III as they all had ranks prior to the creation of the IV’s and the Spartan branch so I assumed they would have ranks too… But thanks for clarifying (:

So if it’s their official rank/description I’m okay with them calling each other Spartan although the word seemed a bit overused to me (in H5).

Short question: Considering Blue Team still operates under the Navy command (or were they integrated into the Spartan branch?) they would still have their ranks or am I wrong here?

Yeah as said previously I like your idea and I would totally give it a try, I just pointed out what I disliked on how they portrayed Osiris…

I’m in for everything that keeps the series fresh and a spin off game could only help doing so.

Correct. All of the living Spartan-IIs are still part of the Navy and are not connected to the Spartans (the branch) at all. By the way, the reason that there are no formal ranks in the Spartan branch lies with the fact that all of the recruits originally were being pulled from veterans of all the other branches of the armed forces. They all already had different ranks and title from their previous service and yet it was important that they all be retrained on a level playing field from the very beginning. There also are just not nearly enough Spartans to justify the complicated rank structure found in the other branches, which have thousands of personnel each. The ranks would be meaningless since they would be so easy to obtain.

Like to see Lockes head spun off by brute
