Watched the new Jessica Jones trailer today and couldn’t help but notice who was playing Luke Cage. Obviously by the title you guessed Locke. First I was excited because I think he would play an excellent Luke Cage, but then I couldn’t get past the fact that I was watching Spartan Locke in another series just without the armor. This is all based on the trailer of course. Maybe I eventually wont notice or think of it, but currently I can’t help but focus on it, lol. Check out the trailer. Am I alone in thinking this?

Pretty sure I also spotted David Tennant as well. I’m definitely looking forward to this.

I’m pretty sure Mike Colter as Luke Cage was a done deal right after production started on Halo 5. It’s one of the reasons Colter’s voice wasn’t used for Locke in Halo 5 instead they got Ike Amadi who in my opinion projects a lot better then Colter. Pretty much the same reason Travis Willingham stood in for Nathan Fillion as mo-cap for Buck.
As much as I dislike Marvel I wouldn’t mind seeing Colter put his acting chops to use on the big screen.
Even though Colter had to drop out of Halo 5, I’m glad they kept his face so that it made sense with Nightfall.
To be honest I hardly noticed his voice had changed until I read that it had.

He didn’t drop out of Halo 5 he is still Agent Locke and will continue to be that character, but there were scheduling conflicts with the Luke Cage film and VO for Halo 5. Instead of trying to work around that they decided to recast his voice. If I’m not wrong Colter was okay with this decision because you know ITS MARBLES BABY! Eh-hem. The recast was a fantastic choice Ike previously voiced Javik in Mass Effect 3 and really brought the menacing growl that Locke needed. I mean just watch the All Hail trailer and you’ll see what I’m talking about.
