I’ve played a few of the chapters in Halo 5 and I really don’t care much for Locke’s side of the story. He’s boring - and I am losing interest quickly. Locke’s vid series was just as boring. I was hoping to see a lot more Chief, and a lot less Locke - except for maybe the cut scenes. From all the article’s I’ve read about Halo5, I am about to be disappointed. When I think of the primary Halo game, I think playing as the chief and not as some lame-cheeseball secondary character such as Locke. I hope you consider killing him off in the series - or completely removing him from the primary story.
The only good twist would be if Locke was Johnson’s son. And/Or I would rather see Johnson as a spartan than Locke - because Johnson was awesome.
Halo Reach did it right, Halo ODST did it right. All part of the same universe, but it’s not the primary Halo - so it could freely focus on different characters.
Totally agree. I regret playing the campaign first. IT IS THAT BORING.
I played the entire thing. By the end you still don’t care about him. He’s a complete wannabe master chief. He has no backstory. 343 needs to accept that Master Chief is the main attraction. I was never on the edge of my seat trying to figure out the next move. Story is the complexity of a picture book and 343 was doing nothing but building hype about the story like this was going to be the next Jason Bourne or something.
Honestly, the worst halo campaign yet. Halo has always been more about the story than the gameplay. This campaign reminded me of Destiny. A LOT. That’s terrible. Generic story telling. I found myself activating something followed by hoard mode much too often.
There doesn’t seem to be an interesting atmosphere around him, I have no interests in Locke before the events of Halo 5 and in then future. Vale, Buck, and Tanaka have much more interesting backgrounds than Spartan Locke. And it’s a shame that this is the guy that the first player will have to be stuck with.
