True honestly I’ve been craving so hard for more story spin offs. Like there’s so many characters and potential for interesting gameplay stories in this universe. Ideally I’d hope for one with Locke, an arbiter focused narrative, blue team, and red team as well.
I love mc as the main character, and at the same time that man needs a freaking break. Reach and odst did well with their stories without the need for him and I feel 343 just needs solid writers and some confidence and they could pull off the same.
For myself, I know they can. I absolutely love the stories being told in Halo 4 and Halo 5 (and even that of Halo Infinite). I don’t think there’s anything wrong with them. It’d be great to continue expanding the universe, if they’re allowed to step out from Bungie’s shadow. (Not saying you’re saying this, just that I see it as a general thought)
She’s the pilot that assisted Osiris during their campaign on Sanghelios lol. Or better yet, Tul 'Juran! The swordmaster that is currently with Rtas 'Vadum (Half Jaw)
Yeah no I enjoyed h4 & h5 for vastly different reasons. I feel like 343 has a tendency to over correct. Kinda like what Lucas film did with the rise of Skywalker after the last Jedi.
I feel 343 now needs to commit to the banished/endless plot and I feel they could wrap up the created stuff with side stories. If they wanted to be mega bold they could reintroduce the didact and finish that whole story beat. I just want some substance. It’s something infinite sorely lacked.
Also I just really wanna see the gen3 versions of Osiris’ armor because I’m kinda a sci-fi armor connoisseur.
Honestly while infinite didn’t do a whole lot compared to other halo entries with pushing the narrative forward I am glad it tied up some character arcs/themes with h4 & h5’s master chief and Cortana’s relationship.
While I do see the parallels here, I do think it’s highly unlikely such a thing is going to occur given Locke’s reception long with other characters introduced by 343. Palmer, Vale, Tanaka, all of these are names most generally have a distaste for, even if they have competent backstories, they lack personality.
Lasky is arguably the only one with a positive reputation among the community but I personally see the poor man as a blank slate, he’s very bland as a character and had little personality outside extended media such as the novels, or dare I say the Forward Unto Dawn film, (which I actually thoroughly enjoyed.)
