Um…you ever seen aliens? Star Wars. Any sci-fi film in the past 30 years. Believe me, halo has got a lot more inspiration from different medias than it has given.
You have to be young if you are seriously trying to say he is getting idea from halo instead of himself. He has to be one of the most original sc-fi (director?) of this generation.
Neill Blomkamp wrote and directed District 9, not produced it. Peter Jackson produced it. And I doubt he took much inspiration from Halo for Elysium. He said the main thing he didn’t like about working on Halo stuff is how controlling Microsoft was creatively.
