So, I just got my Halo 4 Limited Edition console bundle, and I’m in the process of transferring all the data from old hard drive to the new console via a Transfer Cable. The problem?
It’s -Yoinking!- raining.
Half the time when it rains around here, the power goes out. It says not to turn off the console when the transfer is in process. So what am I supposed to do I do if it looks like the power is about to go out?
What if it DOES go out, without warning? What happens to my data? Can I just pick up where I left off when the power comes back on, finish transferring the rest of my stuff? I’m feeling extremely nervous here…

How about you just play it safe and wait until the rain stops. You’ve waited all this time for it so whats a couple of hours or even a day.

Well the rain has stopped (for the moment); but what happens if I press the (B) button to cancel the transfer? Will I be able to pick up where I left off?

I’m not sure if it’ll pick up where you left off, but waiting until you are sure it won’t power out seems like the best option. Pressing B shouldn’t cause problems, but I have no idea what actually happens if it powers off.
Best to play it safe, even if it means restarting the process.
I’m pretty sure that if you exit out by pressing B you will have to restart the process.
Okay, okay… the transfer’s finished, and that storm seems to have blown past me. I guess I just panicked.

Yeah, I got it new; but as fate would have it, I can’t actually download my new FOTUS armor yet because Xbox Live is on the fritz; you can’t download anything. Figures…
