Lock this thread, I'm turning insane.

Has anybody in forums watched CSGO competitive?
they has something call the pistol round, where everybody spawns with a pistol.
In H5, the AR shouldn’t be in MLG/HCS it should be magnum starts only and have the BR have a round of its own, sorta like CSGO’s pistol round.
what do you think?

Sounds like an interesting idea! It could spice up matches up a bit, and really dig deeper into that skill gap. It would be a blast to watch! Again, good idea!

I would love it if pistol only starts was standard even outside of HCS/MLG

This isn’t CS:GO, its Halo. Two completely different games.
-_-

No, all the weapons are finally balanced and have a use at their intended range. Why cut down the game during a competition to see who is best at it?

SO that wouldn’t work the same at all. You have to buy your weapons and equipment in Counter-Strike and the game is played in rounds only. Also it’s not a deathmatch.

Halo is not round based would never work and for the better… They are forsure going in the right direction. AR is a utility weapon just like every other secondary in every Halo.

Nope, the AR has not been a utility weapon.
and it is round based, I’m talking about HCS competition events.
5 rounds
did you watch the HCS competitions?

no…
i don’t think you get it.
read it again
im getting a example from CSGO

Pistol starts is pretty much what we have now with AR starts.

But the thing is…
the AR encourages bad plays. Like what we saw in the invitational.
the AR is free to stay in Arena. But not in MLG/HCS.

People will flip to the pistol if they want to use it, why do you feel removing options is a better way to go rather than just letting players make that choice on their own?

Because that’s how competitive halo is!
H2-BR only starts(MLG)
H3-BR only starts(MLG)
HR-DMR only starts(MLG)
H4- all starting weapons had no secondaries(HCS)
H2A- BR only starts(HCS)
H5- AR starts(HCS/MLG)
the AR just doesn’t fit in H5 competitive.
making the player start with the pistol only in HCS/MLG will make H5 be more in line with the other Halo game.

So…why Magnum? Why not the Battle Rifle? The trend you showed for “what Halo is” clearly has the BR in dominance.

So why not that?

Pistols are designed to be secondaries in CSGO, there are no ‘secondaries’ in Halo, at least there shouldn’t be.

There is no comparison between the two. As it stands the H5 Pistol and BR fill the almost exact same function, the differences between the two are mostly superficial, so switching between the two would add very little.

I don’t care what form the starting utility weapon takes, whether it is in Pistol or Rifle form, as for the AR I honestly don’t think it makes much of a difference, someone on Teambeyond did a detailed breakdown of one of the Gamescom matches and AR use(and SMG for that matter), were not actually used all that much, so removing the AR really isn’t going to have much of an effect anyway.

Because that Is what 343 choose for a utility weapon

CS GO needs a pistol round because every round you buy new weapons, that doesn’t make any sense. Having a pistol round would be pointless because power weapons are still on the map so what would it accomplish?

Just make the BR have a round of its own.
simple

It’s called the “Y” button. Press it when you spawn for Magnum starts.

But why? Other than, “CS:GO does it!” I just don’t understand why you’re asking for this. I promise I am not trying to be obstinate but I really don’t quite grasp the purpose of using the pistol over the BR.
