Lock on rockets vs Spartan Laser

When it comes to anti vehicular weapons, which takes more skill and which is more balanced?

I hate the Spartan Laser in 3 and Reach. It was really easy to aim (lots of aim assist) and unless a vehicle hid behind cover, you would have to be really unskilled to NOT destroy it.

I’d rather anti vehicle weapons be really strong but also take skill to use.

Lock on rockets may not require aiming skill…but it requires timing since rockets can be avoided. They also can’t shoot all the way across the map like a sniper rifle.

I loved vehicle battles in Halo 2 because you wouldn’t instantly be screwed if the enemy team picked up the anti vehicle weapon. You actually had a chance to avoid the rockets (with a bit of skill and luck). I remember the thrill driving with the flag across coagulation and having a rocket just barely miss the warthog.

In 3, you see the laser charging up and you just think “oh sh…” and then you’re dead. No thrill or skill there.
