So I finally get my own tag to play Reach with my family, and all the sudden Team Slayer is just 2 local players.
Why is 343 making local sizes so small?

Reach’s graphics engine on Forge World especially detoriates with too many split screens in a game. Community maps were added, so it had to drop. There used to be a Slayer-only playlist with 4 local players, but it was removed.
You still have…
If you have anniversary you also get…
Welcome to Waypoint!
Because no one wants to play against you with 2-3 guests, its not enjoyable to play and stomp guests into the ground.

I believe this is considered flaming, which is against forum rules…

He has half a point though. It is not fun to play against more than one guest. Where his point deteriorates is that the original post is not about guests. It is two xbl Gold accounts on the same xbox, aka local players. So yeah.

This. More screens means more frame-rate lag, and with more than two screens, there’s a huge risk that Reach’s lighting engine will choke on community-made maps. The choice was either: no community maps; have entire maps flicker and flash like panels on a disco ball in three- or four-way-split; or local max 2.
I’d understand if Super Slayer became 2 player local only, but people have to remember that Team Slayer is practically the most basic playlist of Halo.
It should really be open to any and all players that wish to enter.

Super Slayer is two local players only, just like Team Slayer.
I understand the frame-rate and graphics drop, that’s the reality.
BUT I wish local players could be greater than 2 and EVERY gametype… for several reasons.
-Parties, it’s more fun to play Halo with a bunch of guys who do/don’t have XBOX live accounts, it just is!
-Multiple Xbox live accounts on the same screen happens almost every day for me! More than 2 should be the norm.
-BTB (16 players) only allows 2 local? Bummer! The biggest gametype has the smallest quantity of local! (Again, lag I know but it sucks!)
And regardless of local-player size, I always experience massive lag when I encounter players from Mexico/UK, Canada even! (no hating I promise!)

Team Slayer has always been 2 local players only.
And as others have said, it is because of Forge World frame-rate issues.

Team Slayer should be bumped up to 4 local players and Super Slayer should be the one to host the community maps. Less redundancy and fulfills more niches.
