In the new update yesterday they said if we picked local region for games it will reduce fairness, how would that do that? can someone explain as i am missing it?
The game prioritizes your location to the server over the fair distribution of skill levels. In short, ping vs balance.
Example 1 with local matchmaking:
You live in a low player count area and are a bronze player. Currently there are only gold level players online in your area. You get thrown into that game. GLHF
Example 2 with extended (normal) matchmaking:
Current modus operandi, the game tries to match skill levels but can throw you on a server located on the other side of the Moon.
I really hope that Ex2 also tries to look in your area before putting you on a server but most of the time, it feels super random (or EU is close to being completely dead).
