That’s because split-screen is not in Halo 5.

The general consensus here is kids are sad and there is not Split screen.

If you have a lot of money for a monitor that can have an xbox one and also you will need another xbox one.
Lol. A week later and people are still complaining about features that the game wasn’t supposed to have. Unbelievable.
You have to buy another Xbox One, another copy of the game, and Xbox LIVE if you don’t already have it.

Both to you and the OP and any other person with the same question, as of right now there is no split screen support for Halo 5. If you want to play in the same house another Xbox One console, copy of Halo 5, and TV/Monitor would be needed as Halo 5 is a one person per console game.

Sadly there is no split screen in Halo 5.
A shocker, I know. However this seems to be the trend of the ‘new generation’ of gaming. More money for less content.
