If there’s anything that I’d ask to be restored in Halo Infinite, it would be lobby chat.
Bring back that social aspect and the crazyness of meeting new people in an open lobby. Bring back what made the Halo commuinity great. I’m so sick of games coming out with no lobby chat or just outright blocked social interactions because of “greifing” or hurt feelings reports. It’s called a mute button.
Anyone else missing that crazy public chat in lobby?

H5 does have lobby chat, that’s why there is a mute all button (right stick click). I believe that lobby chat is a hated feature so many people try to avoid it in any capacity, opting to be in an XBL party even if they’re alone. XBL parties prevent lobby chat thankfully.

As mentioned, Halo 5 has lobby chat, and a mute button. No reason why Halo Infinite won’t.
Also, the crazy public chat in the lobby usually consisted of homophobic insults, racism, religion bashing, sexism and every other socially unacceptable slur you can imagine. No, I don’t miss it at all. It’s all very well saying there’s a mute button, however if a player has to use it the damage is usually done and the griefer has had their jollies. I prefer being able to mute, or solo party before joining, I really don’t need to hear the filth that some players come out with.
I’m also no prude, I have nothing against a bit of banter, I’m Scottish afterall. However, it’s one thing to swear and insult with people you know, and another thing to abuse others over XBL. The latter is what usually happens in Halo game lobbies, sadly. It’s something that’s there for those who want it, and the others have the tools to avoid it. I prefer to avoid it.

Is there? I’ve been playing for 3 years and never head someone in the lobby only in game chat. Plus when playing with friends If we switched the game chat or left the party we could not speak to each other until we entered a game (customs and matchmaking)

and I feel you on that but man it’s the internet no one should take stuff to heart In my opinion I guess. I just remember meeting some of my best mates by talking with them in lobby. Sometimes it was annoying other times it was amazing to be in H3 was amazing for this. Plus people who don’t want to hear the lobby could just load a solo party anyways no?
This is important to me as well. I loved meeting people this way, or getting to know someone through multiple lobbies. Some good and some bad haha. This helped make the games more personal and interesting imo.

I don’t take it to heart, I mute, block and report in extreme cases. However, you can’t do it in public, or to someones face, why should it be tolerated over XBL ? Also XBL is open to many different types of players, and an unkown number of those might not understand it. Here’s one example, people with ASD would have issues differentiating between real threats and banter. I could go on. Yes, players can load solo or mute, the silence in Halo 5 tells me most prefer that.
