Loadouts

We just need to go back to Halo 3. No stupid armor abilities or anything, just little items that do a little bit for a short period of time. I’ve loved Halo since the first one was released and always loved it because it had that ‘arena’ kind of feel to it, you go in with what’s on the map and your own personal level of skill. Adding these little adjustments to it is just dumb. Probably won’t even buy 4 if it’s anything like what I’ve been hearing… :confused:

Go play Halo 3 then, I think this is a change for the better, it gets annoying when every playlist you spawn with DMR and pistol or assault rifle, now you can spawn with battle rifle or DMR, assault rifle or pistol, this grenade or that grenade, and your weapons change from there.

That’s why you VOTE for when it says DMRs or normal? Hurr.

If we have to have to have loadouts than I hope it more along the lines of Gears 3 and the weapons you can choose to spawn with depend on the gametype but only spawning with weapon that are within the same niche such as picking between utility weapons only.

Say you have a Rifles gametype where you can pick between BR/DMR/Carbine/N’ifle etc as a primary and Maybe customize a CQC secondary(Plasma Rifle/Repeater/Spiker/AR/SMG)

Something along those lines I wouldn’t mind so much. Not being able to spawn with weapons with special abilities such as the Plasma Pistol(Tracking EMP) or Needler(Tracking) or power weapons. Still I would prefer… not to have custom loudouts.

Well that’s still boring, this way everyone gets what they want at the beginning of the game.

Gameplay changing armor might just give you stuff like bigger radar radius, more Ammo capacity for some weapons, more granade capacity, higher jump, quieter foot steps, longer Sprint, faster Reloads, faster weapon pick ups, and different HUD layouts.

Helmet 1:HUD Layout. Night vision

Helmet 2:HUD Layout. Heat Vision.

Helmet 3:HUD layout. Flash Light.

Waist/Legs 1: Greater Grenade Capacity.

Waist/Legs 2: Greater Ammo capacity(For some weapons)

Shoulder 1: Faster Reload.

Shoulder 2: Faster Weapon pick up.

Chest/Body 1: Bigger Radar Radius

Chest/Body 2: Better Thruster
Ect…

I’d like to select that option.

If the classic pure game needs to return than why was then classic playlist on Reach always in the 100’s before it got replaced with Anniversary. Armor Abilities just weren’t designed right but a similar idea like what 343 is trying can still work you’re just scared its gonna end up like Reach. I don’t want to play Halo 3 with new maps, maybe Halo 3 can be a gamemode on the side but I want all these new features.

Obv, it’s nice that you like the potential changes and all, but leave the discussions to players that have had any Halo game longer than a week, mkay?

I’ve been playing since Halo 3 bro so don’t give me dat

This.

Since when did Halo need these terrible gimmicks?

I got Halo on release date for every Halo (excluding Halo 2, a month after release) I’ve played it for half my life and I’ve got just about everything Halo. You probably play Halo like once a week? lol

Yes, we get it. “My Halo career is bigger than your Halo career!”

We don’t need to play the Halo -Yoink!--showing game. He’s been here for more than one game. Cut him some slack. 343i is just as invested in his opinion as anyone else’s.

I’ve played all the Halo’s close to release date and started multiplayer with Halo 3, I wasn’t very happy with reach so I only recently started playing it again but I’ve played enough Halo to understand what I want from it.

I tried not to make it seem like I was saying it like that, but I -Yoinking!- lol’d so hard reading that. Good day, sir.

How about no loadouts at all? I don’t want Call of Duty: Future Space Warfare.

Well I’m personally excited about this

Well the loadouts are already gonna be unbalanced if they are anything like reachs, we might as well add some customization to it…

i love how any time someone perceives something as good, it is a mechanic or system, but if they perceive it as bad, it is a gimmick… not like compared to almost every other shooter out there, energy shields in halo are a ‘gimmick’

im using different colours so those out there who just see writing will know where one section ends and the next begins thus avoiding confusion. hopefully.

some simple observation here with no bias of opinion, each observation follows the one before it, so at the end there will be a step by step guide to my conclusion;
1 - most ‘competitive’ players don’t like variety.
2 - most ‘casual’ players like variety.
3 - most ‘competitive’ players want the game to be the same as it was 5 years ago.
4 - most ‘casual’ players don’t mind learning to play the game given them, and play itwell.
5 - most ‘competitive’ players keep saying reach sucks.
6 - most ‘casual’ players agree reach is not good.
7 - almost none of the community seems to want to remember there are old mechanics that balance out some of the new mechanics.

the conclusions to be taken from these observations of the community are;
that it is clearly divided into two main groups.

the majority of each group has its opinion, but each group has people in it who think like the majority of the other group.

while the majority of one group generally labels everything new as bad and everything old as good.

the majority of the other group labels everything new based on how it can work in the new sandbox while realising that there will be a section of the game without the newer features.

the overall conclusion for this post is;

the competitive community is incapable of, or unwilling to change with the times while the casual community is capable of, or willing to change and that because there are only in the thousands ‘truly competitive’ players in the community as a whole the game will be made to cater more to the casual community that numbers in the millions and after they have paid for the game it is their choice to continue playing it, or not, the company has their money.
and all your arguing, crying, and demanding will get you nowhere.

now for my personal opinion, i like to play a game that is properly matched on a skill based ranking system so both teams have an even match, if everyone has sprint then im ok with it. and i trust Frankie when he says no one will spawn with an asymmetrical advantage.
also if we have atleast as much control over the settings in custom games as we do in reach, then the parts of the community who don’t want the changes can very easily set up a thousand custom games until they find their ideal game-type and if 343i give MLG a dedicated playlist and some other play-lists for the more stripped down game-types and maps im sure we can all play the game and not worry about people forcing their halo on any of us.
