So I’m curious about the Loadout(s) Option in Halo and I got a couple of questions to ask.

  • What’s a good starter Loadout for a newcomer? - What are all the best weapon combos to above? - Where’s the Shotgun located in Loadouts? (I’m a Shotgun Player Personally) - Is there any guides to lear how the newer Weapons/Gadgets work? (Last time I played Halo was Halo 3 on XB 360)Just looking into what’s good and what’s not

  1. Anything will work tbh but, I typically use a BR with a magnum. I’ll have other loadouts with different armor abilities, etc for different situations/maps.
  2. Personal preference, but the Battle Rifle is used the most and it’s incredibly quick to kill if you’re good at aiming.
  3. The only ‘shotgun’ you can get in a loadout is the boltshot. They nerfed it in the past because of how quickly you could charge it up and one shot people with it.
  4. There are plenty of player made guides but to be honest, just read the descriptions within the loadout menus use what you think will be best for you. The most important thing is your own skill. No matter how many guides you read/watch it won’t do any good unless you just learn how to play. If you want a recommendation for what to watch a video that gives insight on maps. Jump spots, weapon spawns, weapon respawn timers etc.

I made this post awhile back discussing what loadouts people, myself included, used in Halo 4.

You may find some useful information there.

In my opinion, the best loadout for current Halo 4 is:

  • Primary Weapon: Battle Rifle - Secondary Weapon: Magnum - Grenade: Frag grenade - Armor Ability: Jetpack - Tactical Package: Resupply - Support Upgrade: Stealth
