A lot of people are worried about what 343i said about new loadouts based on a perk system. They are complaining that the game will be too much like CoD, but this paragraph comforted me:
Both O’Connor and creative director Josh Holmes acknowledged that the change could prove controversial amongst Halo’s community. “I expect a variety of different reactions,” Holmes told Eurogamer, “One of the great things about Halo is we have the ability to support a variety of different play styles and play lists, create experiences that cater to different player types and community desires.”
It sounds like Holmes is saying that it is possible the new “perks” system may only appear in certain playlists (social) and not others (ranked). I am sure that 343i is aware of Halo’s balance and understands the hunger for more competitive gameplay. Don’t worry, we can’t get upset until we know more. Just remain hopeful as I am
Ya Im excited to see what they do. i dont mind all that new stuff as long as I can still play Halo like before. Reach forced the changes on you. If 343 wants to change things go ahead. But give us a way to experience the new weapons, vehicles, and competive gameplay without shoving perks and weapon selections and armor abilities down our throats.
G4TV already announced that the loadout will “Fundanmentally” change the game, so it’s probably just personal prefrence stuff and gimicks for eye candy.
**Customisable loadouts have to be limited.**Seriously, I love the look of the game and 95% of it but Halo without fighting for weapons is just not Halo at core. I don’t want a game and I’m sure others too that is built deliberately to cater for the Call Of Duty playstyle, not even at the slightest. The only way I can imagine perks working is for like extra ammo for specific weapons or different scopes for the sniper and thats it. I don’t want any of this ninja pro/extra lunge/extra silent crap from Call Of Duty which destroys the realism in shooters. Supernatural abilities in shooters are horrible and they ruin the fun of using guns/weapons for what they are. Please 343 Industries, think very hard on loadouts/perks before you implement it into the game.
