I beleive that when 343 says loadouts that they mean that in certain playlist(possibly in Invasion,Social Slayer, and etc) and you can either choose from either two rifles( like GOW), the BR or the other single shot weapon(ex. DMR). If both were in the game and balanced perfectly, then Halo would have achieved something what COD wish it had. Balanced Loadouts with Different weapons. Like these statistics right here.
The BR is a 3 round burst fire weapon with slower rate of fire and 4 headshot kill.
The DMR(example) is a single shot fire weapon with higher rate of fire and 5 headshot kill.
Not much of a difference but its just to fit your playstyle.
If 343 were to balance these weapons with very close kill times, then custom classes would be a great addition to Halo as long as there are no AA’s and you pick up equipment on a map.
Longer ranged weapons will be able to get to the power weapons more than that short ranged ones.
Not a matter of kill times but of them being completely different weapons meant for different things. Load outs will not work and will not make Halo have better gameplay.

Did you see the part where i said that if 343 tweaked them that they could be balanced but i respect your opinion and loadouts are confirmed for Halo 4.

They don’t belong in an Arena game, but that’s not even what Halo is anymore. It’s taken a turn to unbalance and to be honest you can’t really balance those things that cause uneven starts.

Guess what Halo game implanted the best balance: Halo:CE.
Guess what Halo game kept that balance: Halo 2 and Halo 3.
Guess what Halo games are ruining/going to ruin that balance. Halo:Reach and Halo 4.

I dont think Halo 4 is going to be ruined by loadouts, like i said it could just be in Invasion or Social Slayer or maybe not, I just gave a loadout idea and how it could work IMO. But just know that loadouts are in Halo 4 and Halo 4 is going to be an awesome game.

Compare the DMR to Halo 3’s BR, the BR was better because map-movement was highly encouraged, the DMR being a mini-sniper more or less made map movement restrictive, balancing kill times the same isn’t the problem here.

Great way to look at this, but i just used the DMR as an example when it comes to kill times and not actually being in competition with the BR and i just used it because 343 said that there will be a new single shot weapon in Halo 4.
jeez when anyone uses the word loadouts the whole of the Halo forums freaks out.
I personally don’t mind the idea but it should stay away from the mainstream playlists such as team slayer. It would definitely work in invasion and I hope that in Halo 4 the invasion playlist is not changed at all.
