Loadout Question

I am new to the forums so have not had the chance to get fully introduced to everything. Also I am sorry if this question has been asked before, but I really did not want to search the forums for an answer to my question.

I would like to know about the loadout system that will be implemented in Halo 4. I have multiple threads on how players will be able to spend spartan points on new weapons, mods, AA’s, etc… What weapons will players be able to put into their loadouts? I am hoping that it is the basic weapons and not weapons such as sniper rifles or rocket launchers to name a few.

I believe the answer of this question will be the deciding factor on whether I should buy the game or not! Thanks in advance for your answers!

From what I’ve seen so far it’s the basic weapons. Carbine, Battle Rifle, DMR, Magnum, Assault Rifle, Storm Rifle, Plasma Pistol.

> From what I’ve seen so far it’s the basic weapons. Carbine, Battle Rifle, DMR, Magnum, Assault Rifle, Storm Rifle, Plasma Pistol.

Here’s a list:

Assault Rifle
Battle Rifle
DMR (Designated Marksman’s Rifle)
Magnum
Shotgun (Believe it or not)
Storm Rifle (Replacement of Plasma Rifle)
Covenant Carbine
Plasma Pistol
Light Rifle

EDIT: The Light Rifle and Shotgun have not been officially confirmed to be custom loadout weapons. Those two are based off pure belief and speculation.

Will these weapons be designated primary or secondary? Or will two of any one of these weapons be placed in the loadout?

All these weapons are primaries, except the magnum and the plasma pistol, which are secondaries. You can only have one primary and one secondary, unless you use the firepower specialization, which allows you two primaries.

There are two secondaries: Magnum and Plasma Pistol. The rest are pimaries, however you can get a tactical package (armour mod) where you can equip two primaries in your loadout.

No power weapons in loadouts, of course.

So far that aspect of loadouts don’t seem too bad. What are these armor mods and packages?

> No power weapons in loadouts, of course.

I am so glad that there will not be power weapons in the loadouts. That was one of the things that would make or break my decision to pre-order today!

Uh oh, the Shotgun. I remember back when I was in 5th grade LAN scrimming on Halo 3, one of my friends (the guy in charge of the house party where we were competing) had to stop a round of Team Slayer and use Forge to remove the Shotty from Snowbound because my team and I were abusing it so heavily that the gameplay wasn’t getting anywhere.

Everything you need to know. Armor mods are below the armor abilities, give it a quick read.

Yeah, it’ll still be balanced. No one will be able to spawn with anything too OP.

That’s good to know.

The shotgun seems to be the only weapon which was formerly known to be a power weapon to make it into the custom loadouts. Now they’ve probably nerfed it so don’t worry. Or maybe they cut it from the custom loadouts aspect for the final game. But yes I agree with the fact that it’s good that there are no power weapons in loadouts.

Armour mods work a bit like perks from other FPS’s although there not as…shall we say game changing. You can pick two at one time-a tactical package and a support upgrade.

Excellent link! Thank you so much!

I was worried that the loadout system would be very closely the same to the other game that gets pooped out every year. Not naming any names of course! lol These things don’t seem too bad as long as they are completely balanced between each other.

They seem to be alright, my only concern is if Jetpack is returning and it’s 100% like Reach’s. However, I’m happy with their direction of loadouts.

P.S. You can name your loadouts

I, too, am a little concerned about the jetpack. I fully believe, however, that 343i is doing their best effort to try and balance every aspect of this game as much as possible, so I’m not too worried at this point.

I do think jetpack could be setback a little bit. Although my wife will completely disagree! I also heard that players will have a “killcam” and will have the option to spawn at will. Is this true?

There is no killcam at all.

EDIT: But in Slayer, you can instant respawn if you wish

I hope this is a feature that will be removed before release or will be so unpopular they remove it post launch. I don’t think insta-spawn can bring anything good to the game.
