People keep freaking out and using the word “perk” which is making people think of call of duty and its messed up system where people can be more powerful simply because they are a higher rank and have better perks. But since 343 Industries has announced that these modifications for loadouts have only been being referred to as “perks” by the media, and that they have never used the term to describe what they are, I say its safe to believe them. From now on im going to be calling them exactly what everyone should be calling them …“loadout mods”.
The use of the word “perk” makes people panic and assume halo is turning in to call of duty, and from my understanding the Loadout mods will not change gameplay as drastically as “perks”. What has been announced are Armor permutations that might actually be able to use ( for example being able to use that Giant knife from emiles shoulder, or the katana from halo 3 for something like assassinations).
I really dont believe the loadout mods are worth so much panic, what I get out of “they will be able to benefit you depending on your loadout” is, they will modify the armor ability you are using for said layout. For instance, one of them might give your jetpack more thrust so you dont have to worry about running out too soon, or the ability to make active camo perfect camo ( or maybe even having the radar jammer as one of said modifications to the active camo).
Little things that wont change gameplay, so no spawing with overshields, or the ability to inflict more damage to other players, no spawning with power weapons, none of that crap. I have faith in 343 Industries.
