Loadout gear ideas "Software Packages"

So, I have some new AA and loadout replacement ideas I’d like to run by you guys, feel free to add feedback or your own ideas or whatever.

#1 new Armor Ability ideas

-the Seeker Recon Drone-
. one time use, lasts until it is destroyed, takes 5 second to recharge when turned off, once deployed cannot be recalled.
. when ability is turned on/off it will hover in place(w/ AC), can be used like a security camera in this way.
. two speeds/modes, slow with active camo or fast and obvious.
. while in use removes all HUD elements but the spartans radar, taking fire auto-disables ability.

-the Visual Intelligence System, Reconnaissance (V.S.I.R.) 4.0- (promethean vision replacment)
. unlimited use, lasts 15 seconds with 10 second recharge, highlight enemies within your line of sight.
. highlights enemies who would be detected on radar (I.e, those moving faster than crouch walk speed.), can also identify light distortions (AC’d targets) that are on screen for more than 4 seconds (AC’d players will have an on screen indication that they are about to be spoted).
. an player in highlighted by one VSIR users screen are outlined on the screen of other VSIR users.

-the Grapple Line Launcher- (jetpack replacment)
. limited use[?#] no recharge (alternating reload upon use Ex: fire, reload, fire ) 25 foot range.
. fast use (think thruster pack), can’t grapple players but can grapple vehicles, has travel time (you have to lead fast moving targets).
. (maybe) 3rd person view when you grapple something, can melee mid-line.

#2Software Packages
a tactical package & support upgrade (‘perks’) Replacement idea

while I love the idea of tailoring my spartans kit to my individual playstyle, allowing this to effect base player traits(starting ammo, shield recharge rate, AA use) was terriblly unbalanced. So here is a (hopefully) more balanced suggestion, replace the “perk”-like system currently employed, with single slot, HUD & control modifiers, I.e, software packages.

[loadout example]

  • primary weapon
  • secondary weapon*
  • grenade type*
  • armor ability*
  • software package

**this whole idea is assuming these will be properly balanced in the next game.

-Software Package ideas- (if you can think of some good ones feel free to suggest them)

-Spartan Sharpshooter Package-
. Assuming descope returns (only) a spartan with this package would have flinch instead.
. Radar would still be visible while inscope (the awareness upgrade).
. You are aware of scoped weapons looking in your directions via a slight twinkle.

-Intel Specialist Package-
. Spartan receives an upgraded sensor suite (the sensor upgrade).
. Spartan has HUD indicators for incoming weapon spawns (the drop recon upgrade).
. Can see how much health & shields, players and vehicles have by putting your reticle on them.

-Spartan commander Package-
. Those with this Package can tag targets and objectives, that other players can engage for an EXP. bonus( yes I know it’s from battlefeild 4, but it encourages teamwork and unit cohesion).
. Can call in requisition drops*1 on teammates once every 2 minutes[?] for each player, and you cannot get drops yourself if you have this package.
(*1) these would not be like ordnance drops, ideally they would only give power-ups, ammo, and AAs.

-Hunterkiller Stealth Package-
. Spartan becomes slightly harder to detect (via, seeker drone, VSIR, can’t be marked by commanders).
. faster assassinations (stealth upgrade)
. all actions other than firing weapons and AAs are much quieter.(stealth upgrade)

Well, thats all I have, so please, discuss, critique, leave ideas, and above all else operate under the assumption that if something like this was introduced, it would not be bog standard like sprint in halo 4. It would be a gametype, in other words if you hate it, break down why, don’t just cry “not muh Halo”.

IMO, PERKS should never return.

AA to be placed on maps, like H3 Equipment.

But AA/Equipment to have single use for powerful AA/Equipment and have multiple uses for the weaker ones.

Really?!, I’m not looking to discuss whether or not they should be in the game you -Yoink- , I’m spitballing ideas, I put a disclaimer in the OP
