I raged against specializations for months now, but so far, none of them seem too game breaking. I’d keep an eye on the Shield package, though. Faster shield recharge… ugh. Still, hopefully there will be less 'nade spamming since you need the Specialization to do it.
Do we know how much faster the mobility spec lets you move compared to default? I don’t like the idea of one guy having a faster default movement speed compared to another…
> None of these seem too game changing. Looks good so far!
I know the balancing and attention to detail so far is really making Halo 4 stand out in my opinion. So many hands on players say the same and also many of the MLG pros who have actually played the game are saying the same things about loving it and balanced enough.

I think most of them are going to be like 5-25%, so nothing so huge that it’s armour lock all over again. 343i have the retrospective advantage of Reach trials, title updates, MLG pro feedback and playlist tweaks to cut their teeth on.

I have seen two videos where one guy runs and does not have mobility, then another video where the guy does have it. I’ll try to locate them again and guesstimate the speed percentage difference.
> We have to have a specialization to pick up grenades, Wtf.
The exact mechanics of this are not detailed as yet. I wouldn’t jump to the conclusion that all pickups from corpses have to have this specialisation.
My best guess for now is say your loadout allows you 2 grenades on spawn, then you can replenish that cap limit from corpses but with the specialisation on you can then pick up more than your spawn limit or perhaps hold multiple types of grenades.
For example more than just frags/plasmas being 1 or 2 types, maybe with specialisation your can pick up a total of 3 or 4 types, such as forerunner grenades as well etc. We have seen up to 4 grenade slots in release screenshots/videos.
The hardlight shield emblem looks like a snowflake, and the thruster emblem looks like a monitor. At least from the slightly-blurry, off-screen pics.
Anyway, I’m not a fan of any of these specializations. They were a bit of a step too far in my opinion and I hope they stay to certain playlists. I can deal with things like weapon drops, sprint, and bloom b/c they don’t give anybody an advantage, but AAs, personal weapon starts, and specializations do.
i would think that mobility would be unlimited sprint instead of increased base movement speed. it would make much more sense IMO, since unlimited sprint wouldn’t change the game that much seeing as you still slow down when you get shot, the only real advantage is to use it to get some place as quickly as possible with still having the risk of dying because you will get slowed down while shot.

This would make much more sense. However, I hope that instead of unlimited Sprint it’s just a longer Sprint.

I don’t think it’s a complete list just yet but I try to keep up to date and accurate. If it changes I’ll update the stickied thread for the corrections.
For now all the reading, interviews and videos point to the current OP.

My thoughts exactly, but then I remembered that in one of the IGN vids a waypoint popped up (the kind that now pops up over weapons when you’re nearby so you can tell without going over and standing on it) that said “Frag Grenades”, so I think there will still be grenades as map pickups which you can get without the specialization
EDIT: 0:54 the frags are plainly visible in the center of the screen. Also, the player has AA Efficiency and Mobility, NOT Resupply
Very awesome. It really seems that Specializations will be the focus of Halo 4 instead of AA’s. There was a article posted on Halo4Nation.com that went into great detail about all the new MP features.
I really like what Specializations will bring to Halo. It gives a very personal feel to how you play the game without being intrusive or disrupt the flow. If only Bunige would have understood what that meant.
These specializations all seem fine to me. Think about it. YOUR own unique spartan. You make it perfect to your style of gameplay. Personaly,I think it is a good idea because it adds diversity. Also, in the limited edition, it says it comes with a couple specializations, and that it will help you. So you will probably have to earn them. So it seems fine to me.

Your the man. Thanks. Still not a fan but I’ll adapt. Game looks epic so far. I want that halo 3 wow feeling again. Reach didn’t do it for me

I thought it said that it allows you to unlock specializations early?
