A concept that is honestly beyond my intelligence capacity is something that the Forerunners, specifically the Librarian, and the Precursors were masters of. Those who studied metaphysical biology and Technology, interdimensional travel, “living time”. Things that were, are, could be and won’t be. What is and is not at the same time, happening all at once. Prior to 2021 this was a concept reserved for the extended lore surrounding the godlike Precursors and the Forerunners on the deepest level of Halo’s iceberg and something that was not touched upon heavily until Halo MCC’s Season 8 and the release of Halo: Point of Light. Not just interdimensional travel but primarily the inclusion of canon timelines and alternate universes wherein the world as we know it is changed. Whether Spartans are using Hellgates to travel space to combat the Covenant, or Samurai from 343 united clans under the Imperial Court fight Covenant barbarians and Glass Dragons. These aren’t just small side stories, but official alternate timelines as part of the greater Halo universe. With Forerunners being the students of Living Time and Precursors being the living embodiments of spacetime mastery, I believe it’s entirely possible that the Precursors are aware of these universe fractures.
The Flood as we know it have a hive-mind and collective intelligence that was provided to them by their Precursor progenitors and understand much of space, time, living time and all that is and could be. Does their hivemind cross that timeline barrier? Would, say, the Shapeless Horror from a Fracture universe be aware of it’s parasite brethren known as The Flood? If that barrier can be crossed by beings such as that, is it crazy to think that perhaps Forerunners were closer than expected to perfecting living time and fracture universes as the students of all the Precursors left behind? Or will these separate timelines remain separate pieces of a greater Halo whole?

Not to the main story, but it is an alternate timeline. If we can go that far with it i’d say it’s only fair to say it’s in the same Universe, just not the same Canon timeline
