Living Dead Love!

Just saw the update and read this:

We modified this playlist with the latest versions of the following fan-created maps: Spooky Base, Powerless, Deadwalk, Bedlam, Uncongealed, and Parasitic. Thank you to the players who have continued to perfect their already incredible creations. We’ll make sure we save some brains for you.

THANK YOU 343 FOR FINALLY GIVING INFECTION SOME TLC!

I haven’t played the maps myself. What do you guys think of them?

Love them all and have had a blast playing them and I dont know if you picked up on this, but I believe the infection gametype (evade variant) will be removed and it will only be alpha zombies. Not 100% sure on that but it was stated that evade will be removed from all spartan loadouts, so thats what Im getting out of it.

I’ve enjoyed the few new Living dead maps as of the last update. I mostly play with friends for that rather than alone, more fun to panic with friends than panic alone. The community maps have been great, so i have faith in the community maps making their way into the playlist.

I played on that Chateau level and the best thing was the realization of ‘…where did this wall come from’ when the both of us actually cornered ourselves unknowingly. Panic insued when i realized 4 zombies were coming in front and atleast two behind us breaking down the pallet wall. We became Zombie chow.

It’s terrific that 343i have wasted their time updating these pointless playlists, but what about Invasion? Reach’s prized possession, well I guess I could include Arena as well, but that’s besides the point. Nothing has happened to those two playlists AT ALL, except for the TU, but 343i were going to update it to Arena anyway.

I’m starting to lose hope, you know?

I was starting to lose hope (interest) all the same, but hearing about playlist TLC for somthing as under-nurished as Living Dead gives me incentive to play Reach again, and hope that Invasion is next on 343i’s fixing hit list.

I haven’t played many custom Invasion games (they’re a little hard to set up), but there’s gotta be at least a couple of good ones out there. If not more. Are the Community Cartographers still going? Maybe they could work on getting some Invasion improvements made. :slight_smile:

I’ve seen some second hand info regarding Invasion updates being on 343’s drawing board. I just personally hope they are very careful. New maps/gametypes in it would be divine for me. Invasion Spire, Invasion: Boneyard are very fragile in their balance so a change would be akin to disarming a bomb where all the wires have been painted red.

i wouldnt really call LD a pointless playlist when it has one of the biggest populations in it in Reach so i guess something must be good about it.

I would of liked to see some new forged maps made instead of people changing a few things around like in Asylum (Bedlam) and Uncaged (Uncongealed) and then calling them brand new maps, they didnt do much to them apart from hurting my eyes with silly effects and move a few things here and there, i see people avoiding those 2 maps straight away when they are in the options and pick Reflection instead.

Why not bring a Speed demons gametype in LD :slight_smile:

The only good thing they did about LD is that they took away the ability to betray people when ever you want, i was kinda sick of idiots who use to come into that playlist with guests who did nothing but betray non stop.

This and grifball, although betrayals is still nonstop in grif. I’ve seen people on these forums who say the only reason why they enter grifball is because they can’t be booted for betraying. You can’t get rid of friendly fire in grifball the way it is now, you’d get people launching each other to the opposing goal nonstop. Unless you increased the gravity making it harder to get some air. For a joke sometime I would like to see a grifball varient where sprint/evade weren’t the only AA’s. I think it would be quite funny if Hologram was part of it. It would look like 8 on 8 and would make it harder to spawn kill.

I also had an idea about living dead, what if there was a variant but opposite to infection. Killing zombies turns them into humans, it would be a zombie hunt. Zombies infect, while humans revive. If it were a 16 player game a zombie could go past the Brains… Medal.

Seriously???

Having not played since Christmas; I have been fooled. Very disappointed 343i. Why don’t you add Speed Demons and Haunted Manor? And other community favourites made specially for Infection instead of adapting existing maps, which didn’t fit infected to begin with and still probably don’t now.

because 1) those maps play horribly and favor the survivors way to much and 2) they are not compatible with 4 player splitscreen.

P.S, one of those community maps is mine and i can assure you, it plays better then the default varient.

Dude I would love that, been saying that evade needs to leave in Infection since I got Reach.

did you know that at least 10,000 people always play this “pointless” playlist?

Ha first… LD betraying was part of the game…sometimes just messing around was a fun thing…next…the “new” LD maps are lame just revamped original maps… next…invasion should have gametype to only play one round, normally you figure out within the first 2 minutes one team totally stinks and have to suffer through a full round of the rest of your team unable to go anywhere…

Revamped maps was the majority of infection maps in Halo 3. The only community maps I can think of were Haunted Manor and Spooky House. A couple more game types would be nice though.

I want to see infection on forge world maps excluding The Cage and its altered variants. Either make an infection map utilizing hemmorage or parts of it, or other parts of forge world. Sniping towers wouldn’t be so bad if it wasn’t so easy to kill zombies, maybe swap out the pistol for something else? Or keep the magnum but ditch the shotgun. Which ever.

Also maybe if the game had 4 rounds, and each person was a zombie for 2 rounds and a human for 2 rounds, it would thereby make it balanced for all players. Getting spawned as a zombie on the cage constantly is no fun at all. Eventually the round ends with total infection, or someone(s) survives the whole round.

The new maps on powerhouse with the dark dark lighting make it scary to play, I can’t tell zombies from humans it’s totally awesome. The same goes for the new countdown. I haven’t been able to play it yet on spooky base or parasite, but I really want to see how those got changed. I want to see Living Dead become harder, more survival based instead of who can camp the same spot the longest, or jump on to usually unreachable areas that require help. If you had to constantly be on the move and work as a team, I would abandon Team Slayer and Free for all gametypes for it.
