Living barrier kinda bad

I find myself not at all spending leader points on living barrier anymore. Even fully upgraded, sure you can make the wall pretty long, but they’re so weak, and once one link is destroyed the whole thing is breached. Why even make a self-destruction time limit on it if it’s so easy to destroy?

It works much better as an on-the-spot power to trap the enemy. Its decently effective as a rush deterrent but you’re absolutely right, they should either make it tougher or have a longer self destruct time.

There’s also the fact it can’t be dropped in between the army to cut them off. It literally was just hype about the barrier being a useful utility ability. If it were to be able to drop in middle of an army I think it would get used more if it disrupt enemy paths on use rather then letting the enemy pass by then using it bc rarely does the enemy team ever travel alone they all go in at the same time.

True tbh. It definitely is not worth the leader point.

why not add like 5 mini turrets to it. that way its a viable defense early on or can be uaed as such

or why not add fire wall as a 2nd upgrade that way any unit near it gets hurt then add mini turrets as a t3 unlock. just saying they could do some cool stuff with leader powers in this game.

I’ve seen a couple pretty solid guys with it early game used very effectively.

Trap the enemy when there on the run…

Barrier also gives the enemy credit towards unit veterancy when they kill you walls.

It’s rather -Yoink!- tbh

I’ve grabbed it a few times in the late game and it helps with exit strategies if you run into a fight you know you can’t win. It’s a good drop to slow the enemy down enough to get back to ur base and regroup. It’s also not bad at splitting up teams in 2v2 or 3v3 since their armies don’t move on top of one another as much.

Wow these are great ideas. Especially since colony is supposed to be a beefy front line defensive leader

If you think it’s bad now, just watch an AI use it. Every time I’ve seen them use the thing, they only dropped one barrier.

Not worth the Leader Point - Use it on Skiterers - way more OP

The wall is great in 2v2 and 3s. Rush 1 opponent and drop the barrier on the most active path that the other two opponent’s will use. This will slow them down and ensure you do some damage without suffering casualties beforehand.
