Lives in Warzone Firefight

One of the most common complaints that people are making about Warzone Firefight is that it’s too easy. And one of the most common solutions that people propose is to give us a limited number of lives. Lets discuss that.

I like that idea. The stakes will be higher and people will have to be more cautious and work together.

The way I’d like to see that implemented would be like that:

  • One life per round.
  • Lives are cummulative. If you don’t die in the first round, you’ll have two lives in round 2 and so on.
  • When you lose all your health and that’s your last life, you’re down, but not out. Your teammates will still be able to revive you before your timer runs out.
  • If you lose your last life, you’re out until the next round, when you’ll get another life.
  • If you lose your last life during the last round, you’re out of the game. Tough luck :frowning:

What are your thoughts?

That sounds like a good idea, but maybe some adjustments to live counts?

we have the revive mechanic in campaign, it would be good in WZFF

That’s why we’re having a beta. So that 343 will learn our opinions and hopefully deliver what the community wants.
There’s an official thread where they’re getting our feedback, but I wanted to discuss this matter specifically and that thread is growing too much to let us discuss specifics. Hopefully 343 will read the feedback in unofficial threads as well.

This would be a lot better than the current way. Unlimited lives reminds me of Spartan OPS and that sucked big time.

The problem I have with having only one life is how often promethians warp in right behind me. If my teammates don’t reach me in time I’m now staring at my screen for minutes because promethian spawns are super rude.

Why would I want to play a gametype where there’s a chance of everyone dying and not maximizing the req points I can get? Might as well just farm people in regular warzone. Sounds more fun :wink:

Great idea if you want to never win a game since everyone you get matched with is a pleb who will run into gun fire regardless of a lives system. Please if anything the only change needed is to make the garage scenario less impossible. And to make the rest of them just a tad harder so it isn’t a cake walk.

Firefight is also supposed to be about survival, not calling in over powered weapons and killing the hell out of everything within five minutes. Adding limited lives will bring back part of that survival aspect of the game.

Too bad this is WARZONE firefight and not just regular firefight. There is a difference. It’s funny how every one was complaining about H5 having no casual game play so now that they are adding it people want to make it harder and more competitive.

If we have limited lives then the AI should be less accurate and weaker. Especially the promeathans.

Some type of life count would be good. And either some type of rollover system, or a set number per round, like 1 for the first, 2 for the 2nd and 3rd, and 3 for the 4th and 5th. Having the revive option in game would be great, especially now that they added the ping option in the last update. It would just be a matter of your fellow spartans actually coming to revive you…

never was a fan of the life system. Maybe make it a revive system instead. Like the Campaign for example but maybe make it that your down until someone revives you. It will work both ways anyway. People might end up being downed in a group of enemies, which means people will need to cut through in order to revive them. It will also mean that you cant lone wolf enemies either, which means you will need to do the buddy system.

Where did anyone say they want it competitive? People want a challenge. WFF is too easy. Arcade mode in Reach wasn’t received well, but ODST firefight was great. People want that back.

Challenge goes hand in hand with competitive. But I would rather not add something that will just lead to your teammates quitting.

Here is how it should be:
5 min rounds
Each spartan has 3 lives per round
I have no flippin clue how to deal with vehicles. They are so OP.
