What do we expect to hold the top spot for Live activity when Major Nelson posts it for May 13 next year? I think clearly its between Halo 4 and Black Ops 2. Both will have been out for about 6 months at this point.
I’m sure BlOps 2 will sell more at launch, given that its on multiple platforms. I even think its 360 only numbers will be better. But I have a feeling that Halo is going to be holding top spot by then. I really think this might be the year COD finally loses people’s interest. I know many of my friends who are big CODheads said they weren’t excited for BlOps 2 (just need to get them excited for Halo’s return). Halo 4 is making enough changes to get people curious and hopefully stay playing.
We saw a slight dip from BlOps 1 to MW3. This year will either prove that COD is on its way out, or it will prove that people just trust/like the Black Ops brand of COD more than the Modern Warfare.
Those are my thoughts. How about you guys? I’m not inserting a poll because I would rather some discussion take place on the matter rather than a single mouse click.
To be honest man… I really think halo 4 has a chance to outsell cod on the xbox… Its going to be a big fight for 1st place but i do believe halo 4 will take it… after the 1st 2 weeks both games are out is when the competition will start. The hype for halo 4 is starting to get big and its only going to get bigger. The gamestops are saying halo 4 is putting up a huge fight for 1st place on the xbox and some are ahead of cod. Lots of people i know are actually more excited for h4 instead of BO2.

Halo 4 is about 100,000 pre-orders behind BLOPS 2, and is getting 5,000 less pre-orders per week. Unless something big happens Halo 4 probably won’t out-sell COD in pre-orders.
You people fail to realize cods players don’t always stay… They always leave… The halo players stay true and word spreads that is a better game(which it will be) than things could change.
Halo 4 will be. My whole friends list was full of Modern Warfare 2 and Black Ops people, but now I rarely see people play Call of Duty. It’s beginning to get less popular. Halo 4’ll definitely be second, if not first anyway.

If I see a ranking system like BLOPS2 for Halo4, I will cancel the BLOPS2 and preorder Halo4.

Shouldn’t matter. People should be able to separate themselves from their bias/preference to have a discussion.
A huge Halo fanboy can still say that COD will outsell Halo, or vice versa. It’s not like I’m asking which one the people on these forums will like more, or are more excited for.

Cod has the top 2 spots while halo dropped, you have it backwards, cod players very often stay.
I want to be believe that Halo 4 will make 1st. But when it comes to LIVE activity it’s really just not multiplayer to look at. Halo did well with the Spartan Ops idea, but I highly doubt it will surpass replayability compared to Black Ops 2 Zombie mode. I know many people only play zombies on CoD and never play multiplayer, I was one of them.

I’ve personally never been into zombies either. I much prefer Gears’ Horde mode. But then I much prefer competitive modes to co-op modes.

Zombies is great. It is fun to get you and 3 friends and try to beat high rounds or explore new maps. Custom games are also fun with friends. It comes down to preference. I think Custom Games are better and have more variety but I played zombies more and had more fun on zombies, just cause thats what my friends played.
I think I’d only buy Black Ops 2 for Zombies and Campaign. Some MP but I put MW3 down after the 2nd week. COD is just becoming a waste of money for me, but I do enjoy Treyarchs CODs over Infinity Wards.
As for activity, COD no doubt. It dominates and will continue to dominate. I do think we may see a slow with the iteration after Black Ops 2 though.
