According to this IGN article, we’ll be getting a live-action story trailer for Halo 5. So for all you guys who feel last night was a waste of time, here you go. The article states that it will show ‘both sides of the story’ and will be watchable online.

Well, last night, no one knew what was coming at the end of the countdown. At least with this, we know we’re getting a trailer.

We had no idea what would happen yesterday. But for the 29th, we have explicit information about what’s going to happen. We shouldn’t overhype something we don’t know about, but a live action trailer is worth getting excited over.

No, because no one at 343i even hyped it. It was entirely the community who hyped it up, all 343i did was confirm it was real and say the next few weeks would be interesting. In fact that last comment just told me not to get too excited because they’d be delivering the goods over a several week period, so a trailer this soon would make no sense.

Exactly, with marketing campaigns like this you always want to start out small. Hence the teaser and audio file. As the weeks progress, evident by the news of the new trailer, you make the stuff bigger and bigger, get the hype going up so that when E3 arrives the fans will make sure to not miss it.
We have one week left of March then it’s April. E3 starts on the 15th of June, roughly two and a half months from now, so it’s possible we’ll be getting something new, whether it be more audio files or hints of the multplayer, up until E3.

100% true. All Holmesy said was “the next couple weeks should be very interesting.” This trailer falls within the next couple of weeks, so he’s right.

I like how all these people are saying they’re dissappointed with 343 for building up hype for an ARG. It’s a weekly thing up until I think the week before e3. If that’s not enough for you guys then idk what is.
