I like these little things that 343 does for our community.
These are the little things that matter (for me at least) from the Anvil’s Legacy content update notes.
First one:
- Fixed a bug where you could board the Mantis from the front - Fixed a bug surrounding foot stomp damage on the MantisAwesome. I thought it was silly that you could board Mantis from the front in the first place. It wasn’t like that in Halo 4. Now it is fixed and I am happy again. Hannibal Mantis just became easily the third best vehicle in the game. Right after Phaeton Helios and Ultra Banshee.
Second one:
- Fixed problem where players could create custom weapon configurations on weapon pads - Saw awesome community videos and posts on the internet - Unfixed problem where players could create custom weapon configurations on weapon padsThis. I like how they had a bug in the game, but instead of removing it right away, they waited for the community’s reaction. And now they have turned a bug into a feature. I’m really digging the modified weapons you can make in Forge. Some of my favorite weapons are… 1) Spartan Laser shooting Ad Victoriam rounds. You really need to try this one out. The Spartan Laser can basically shoot Ad Victoriam shots in a constant spam for as long as the Laser charges its shot. So basically you can spam the rockets for around 3 seconds. In that time, you can shoot around 150+ rockets? It looks awesome. And after the Laser almost shoots, just release and start charging again. You can seriously spam rockets almost non stop. 2) If you want a real beast of a weapon, try any automatic weapon with Nornfang. (Or pretty much any weapon… Like seriously). The amount of insta kill (unlimited range and accuracy) sniper bullets you can shoot our of a short range weapon is madness. Okay, okay… I’ll move on.
Obviously fixing the Grunt Mech to be less op was great. I won’t go into detail about that one.
Obviously also adding the vehicle wielding thing was great (a system that works properly, not through a glitch), alongside with the music that you can add into Forge now (and yeah, pretty much everything else that was added to the Forge). Now all we need is A.I. in Forge and we can create our own stories and missions. Or pretty much anything else we can imagine.
And my last point to make here, but certainly not the least. You can now decide the rotation angle of your Spartan’s stance. I found many new stances worth actually using after I could set the rotation angle my self. Before this, I couldn’t use many of those stances because they blocked too much of the helmet/armor/detail of the Spartan. I’m liking this little addition a lot.
What do you guys think? This update has restored my faith for 343 a little bit more. I am constantly playing and enjoying Halo 5’s multiplayer, even though it still lacks some core playlists and modes that we should have by now. Some which should have been there at launch. (These are mostly permanent playlists that I’m talking about, what’s up with only having multi team or team snipers on the game every once in two months? Like seriously?). So what made me lose my faith in the first place? I still haven’t (and probably never will) forgive them for the horrible campaign in Halo 5 (mostly story). Halo 4 had a great story in my opinion. Also, I have to admit this REQ system and the micro transactions thing is starting to get out of hands.
