Anyone else found any of these little black objects? Does anyone know what they are/do? They’re found in places that are out of the way, so i’m assuming they’re part of an easter egg or something.
When i first saw one i though it was a skull hiding in the shadows, but noticed it was something weird. Also can’t seem to interact with

Edit: Source said this - Okay idk about the 2nd and im sure theres more but on that blue team mission, shoot the thing where it explodes then turn around where ur facing over the ledge and youll see a blinking (i think blinking) yellowish light out in the distance, shoot That too and then a nice little easter egg will pop up

Seeing the texture on that last one definitely makes it look like some sort of skull. Maybe a placeholder for future intel drops or something.
I believe these are easter egg. In a recent RUL video he details what you can do with your second linked object:
That one appears to unleash a swarm of banshees. I have no clue about the other. It might be worth looking around for similar objects to shoot in that area.
Could be an unused placeholder, it happens a lot. i mean thus game is massive so its bound to have some unused content. but hey, its only a theory… a game theory!
So there is actually more than one in the banshee area of mission 2. Touching them makes sparks sly out of them, looking for more of them just now
Just touched a 3rd one and the grunt birthday party “yay” sound popped.
I found four of these in the big open “reactor cooling” area towards the end of the level. Three of them did shiny/sparkly lights when I touched them but one did nothing.
There is a plasma pistol by one and I found an energy sword very out of the way in the same area but not immediately near any of these objects.
I was wondering if maybe you have to have four players to do something with them simultaneously kind of like some of the more cryptic secret/hidden things in Reach.
I was also wondering if these appear on all difficulty levels (I was playing on Legendary), but I haven’t looked into it yet.
Yeah I’ve found them on almost every level and I can not figure out what they do besides making sparks fly and party noises.

I saw a video of some guy shot one in the reactor area and a Sword Banshee flew by and he hijacked.
I also found those things randomly on other levels too. There were 2, if I remember correctly, on the Guardians level when taking down the orb reactors.
