So after playing a lot of the H5 Beta in the past two weeks I have been following the different topics in the forums and have noticed a pattern of complaint!
“DROP THE BR STARTS” -
343i will you please listen to the very people who are to make your game a success or not and drop the BR Starts - its causing the Halo fan base to slowly fade away one player at a time.

Its not about “getting better” i am against the BR starts and i can out BR you any day of the week maybe you should get better and look at the actual problems with BR starts its actually really overpowered when a whole team coordinates and spawn traps you on regret it doesnt matter how good you are with a BR you will die when you spawn and it is OP i would like to see how the AR start would fair on a map like Regret. But really stop being ignorant.

Oh really? Then why is it I frequently see the same gamertags in the Beta’s matchmaking? Or that SILVER and UNRANKED players are getting matched with and against Pro and Semi-Pro players? Looks like a small pool of players to draw from.
how is it that the minority is against BR starts, if the Majority of the forum topics are complaining against Br Starts?
Im all for the Battle rifle, its an epic weapon if used properly, but it introduces skill if one has to fight to obtain the weapon during gameplay and then dominate once they have it.
just like going for the sniper or other superior weapons in the older halos.
Conversely once the other team controls all the BR spawns with AR start slayer, you’re cross-mapped off spawn.
Why do you want a game to be decided by the initial BR-dash scramble? If you’re already finding it hard to verse other players with the same weapons off spawn then I shudder to think how heavily wrecked you’d be when they control the weapon spawns of the map when they annihilate your team and pick up the BR’s first.
A utility precision weapon allows you to get back into the fight - providing you’re good enough. Stop blaming the BR.
I highly doubt you can out BR me, but whatever makes you feel special. But anyways i completely understand what you’re saying. Halo 5 is a game that is pointless to play unless you search with a team that you play well with. So far in the beta my slayer rating is 2065 and my breakout is 1987 (not a fan of breakout). The game speed and TTK is a huge factor in your statement as well. I do appreciate the laugh you gave me saying you could out BR me lol.
I’d rather they fix it instead of remove it. The game settings is a copy paste from AR starts and it doesn’t work out.
Tweaking the radar to allow closer range weapons and communication to be used is a step I’d recommend doing. As it stands, it gives too big of an advantage to the BR and promotes defensive gameplay by having players stay mear exits to thrust to when things go bad. By reducing the radar’s range, players would need to find players to kill, or risk getting flanked.
The Slayer gametype needs to adjust to what the weapon players start with. Otherwise, we’d get this BR slayer where it doesn’t play remotely as fun as AR starts.
Please. BR starts are essential. We all fans here - don’t put words in our mouths.

Wait wait wait… you’re telling me that you don’t like it when a team spawn traps you on Regret with BR starts… so what are you going to do when the other team gets BRs/LRs/DMRs and spawn traps you when you keep spawning with an AR? The BR gives you a fighting chance against those who have the upper hand on you.

You’re joking right? Go play MCC and I bet you 3/4 times BR starts will get voted in.
playing the earlier halos (and im now talking about on the original xbox and on the xbox 360) it was more fun starting the game with a pistol or AR and then scrambling for a power weapon, not having to worry about teams spawn trapping you, becos most of the time players spent time trying to out flank enemies and make kills based on better position rather than relying solely on how good they were at using a certain weapon.

when it was AR starts the posts were about the AR being way too OP and the majority of the posts were against that (just saying). They both have their place, but on certain maps like Regret they are absolutely 100% awful, but that’s because Regret is way too small especially with sprint in there. Like why make that map so small if sprint is in it?

Because SMGs make for great starting in that game. -_-
The pros will always be good at this game regardless… but if you give them all BR’s to start with, then it’s not even fair. It’s boring, it’s frustrating, and it always becomes a game of shoot, run, regenerate (rinse and repeat)… Not to mention the spawn killing and almost all other weapons become neglected. All newcomers and decent players will stop playing this game in less than a month. I don’t blame them.
The AR’s on the other hand still give the pros the extra edge and it will still give players reasons to pick up precision and other weapons. It’ll allows players to move around the map way more freely rather than getting shot from every direction within seconds… It also makes close quarter combat much funner (melee, switch to pistol, grenade)… with BR starts, you don’t really need anything else.
I really hope 343i makes AR/Pistol spawns the default setting here.
Game feels way funner and less frustrating and allows newcomers to do decent.
I’m a fairly good Halo player…love all the games in the franchise, but the beta this week was a huge step down in my honest opinion.

BR starts as they work in Halo 5 messes up the flow of the game. With AR starts your team not only has to coordinate on power weapons but also on BR and DMR spawns. Without BR starts there is more map control opportunities, with BR starts there are a lot more Spawn Trapping
AR-Starts are better but this weapon needs a huge range nerf. You can outclass BR’s too easy. These Smart Scope for the Autos doesn’t make sense. Without the Zoom, it would be fine.

BR is better than the SMG for sure. Halo 5 is a very different game though. Pistol/AR works.
