LISTEN TO US!

Why doesn’t 343 respond to more threads? There are a lot of legitimate criticisms on these forums that seem to have fallen on deaf ears. I mean, they don’t have to respond to EVERY thread, but they could do more than they are right now. I only ever see a couple of responses from them every once in a while on threads like “Jessica Shea, the love of my life.” Yeah it was funny, but did it really need a response from them? I guess what I’m trying to say is that I feel like the fans aren’t being listened to as much as it seems necessary. I hope that 343 interacts with their fans more in the future, like Bungie, because this is bothering me.

Yes, we need a reason why they don’t respond and more communication from their forum teams and themselves. You are totally right.

Because they’re afraid of interacting with their community and they’re buried under nondisclosure garbage.
They only hired one person to be the 343 hand puppet for us little lab critters, and they don’t let her do very much talking.

After reading what Frankie said about how “we can do better” or whatever was said, my best guess is that 343i will do whatever else they can to fix halo 4 within their own means and hopefully (although Im doubtful), they will address all of the community’s concerns when they make halo 5 before they release it.

Again, it is just my guess. And a very vague guess at that. The truth is, half the stuff the community is asking for cant be done without completely overhauling the game, and I thought I heard somewhere that a lot of the mm team at 343i have already left in search of other jobs since halo 4 is “done”. So really, it will probably come down to them either getting it right with halo 5, or just not getting it right at all. If they cant get it right for halo 5, or whatever their next game is, Im afraid they will be losing me as a long-time customer of halo. :frowning:

they reply to threads on week days and they do listen to us

> they reply to threads on week days and they do listen to us

How many threads do they reply to?

They should host threads about specific topics like:

How can we improve personal ordnance?
What is your least favorite playlist and what should be done to improve it?
What should be the next playlist to be added?
What would make season 2 of spartan ops better?
If we were to make a balanced social slayer playlist what should it look like?
If we were to return an old gametype, what should it be?
What would the perfect forge map be?

They should be hosted by 343 staff that actually work on those aspects of the game, and should be active members of the discussion.

Host one a week with a set start finish time in a 24 hour window, or something similar.

They’d rather hire an overdose of forum moderator’s to block/close/redirect valid threads of frustration/inquisition than respond to them themselves. Its just easier that way. Classy.

how am i supposed to know? i just occasionally see rukizel or bs angel on the forums, it doesnt matter how many they reply to the fact that they do reply to threads means that they read the forums

Or they skim the topic headlines and pick and choose ones to reply to.

I actually think they already did the three first subjects you brought up (Not entirely sure about the ordinance one though)

I don’t know where you guys and gals are looking but…

Recently added and active official forums:

  1. War Games Feedback (broken down by active playlists)
  2. News (provides bulletins, Q&A, blogs, feeds etc)
  3. Matchmaking (an entire forum dedicated to matchmaking)

Here is some official threads:

  1. Halo 4 Known Issues
  2. Daily/Weekly/Monthly Challenger Depot
  3. How Matchmaking Works - A Basic Overview
  4. Official Community Cartographers Thread
  5. Matchmaking Bug Reporting

In short just take a look around and you can provide feedback in official forums/threads specific to the gametype(s) and playlist(s) you enjoy. Just look around outside of the Halo 4 forum. If you look in these official forums/threads you will see active 343i staff beyond the moderator and superintendent volunteers.

You can interact with MM systems team, bs Angel, B is for Bravo, Ruzikkel and more. Further you can Private Message mods/supers/343i staff with specific suggestions or post in the Waypoint forum too. Plus if you read the bulletins you will see the MM systems team is reading all of the forums and taking in feedback even when they don’t reply too often in bulk forums like the Halo 4 one.

i dont think anyone replies to every topic they read

Bungie did not communicate on the forums near as much as people claim they did.
Besides 80% of threads in the Halo 4 forum are just copy and pastes of other threads.

What are these all important questions not being answered?

Is the DMR getting nerfed?
Why not have a visible in game CSR?
Did Cortana die?
Will there be sp ops s2?

That’s what I see over and over what else are we being “ignored” about?

I know those are there, but I and many others would appreciate some early acknowledgement before they roll out updates or post bulletins like, “Okay we’ll look into it” or “We’re working on it.”

Our opinions don’t matter, because we’re only a “subset” of the player population. Why listen to a couple thousand people on a forum when there are millions of other silent players?

> I know those are there, but I and many others would appreciate some early acknowledgement before they roll out updates or post bulletins like, “Okay we’ll look into it” or “We’re working on it.”

In the bulletins they have stated a number of times the TU has more details than they have revealed on two occasions. They do this due to cheats/exploits that can be garnered from the release of such information. They also do this as things change very frequently during development/testing too.

After all you wouldn’t want to hear about a feature you personally want getting in 1 month ago only to then have it left on the development cutting room floor 1 week before the TU drops live.

Those sorts of decision/development/testing/cheating factors weigh heavily and you’d have to agree after Frankie’s open letter around the new year communication and deliverables have been improving week after week.

We now have official forums/threads to discuss and interact with 343i, we have pros like Walshy and Bravo getting hands on testing/feedback, we have community cartographers making playlists like Doubles, Snipers, Team Throwdown and tweaks to our “default Halo 4 playlists”. We just received the majestic map pack which is just what the pool of official maps needed and they’re great fun competitively or casually. We now have many fixes for exploits, weekly updates, rotating playlists, fileshare in game, fileshare on web (more tweaks coming too) and all the rest of it.

Overall I can understand your point of view as I used to be like that in say DEC 2012, however looking at things overall now I’m really appreciative of the effort and content 343i are providing. Further it’s getting better all the time too. -Yoink!- good progress and improvement for a new studio if you ask me.

When I compare this to say Bungie during the launch of Halo 2 and waiting 6 months for the TU and anti modding cheating measures I personally feel 343i have done more in less time. Don’t worry Bungie I understand the technology was new back then and I loved Halo 2 with a passion.

People here are operating under the assumption that what they have to say is actually worth listening to.

Lol to that, sirs.

If what the community wants doesn’t matter why do we have these forums?

Ever heard of a placebo?

343 probably argues with each other as much as forum members do, and most likely about the same exact things. It would shock me none if they came to the forums to get support for their arguments. They’re definitely not allowed to openly state that though.
