Has long list of reasons for not being happy with Halo 4… None of which are reasons to think Halo 4 sucks.
The many changes that were enacted in order to make it play more like CoD. I like both Halo and CoD, I never wanted them to make a baby.
I don’t want to wait 6 seconds for my shield to recharge. What’s the point of having shields if you’re going to make sure we don’t have them very often?
I don’t want to play on maps that are designed like race tracks to keep me from putting my back to the wall. I want to keep my enemy in front of me and I don’t want to have to move all the time just because there are no strong points on the maps.
I don’t want to play a game that is designed so that I get one kill then die. I don’t want to play ANY game that wants to force me to play a certain way, I want to play games that allow me to play multiple ways.
I don’t want the weapons to be designed so that when I win a fight, even when I win it pretty soundly, I am much less likely to be able to win a second fight.
I don’t want the weapons and vehicles to be so easy to use that anyone can get so much out of them. I want the best weapons to be harder to use, not easier, and I want the vehicles to require some skill to operate. If a weapon is treated like a power weapon, like a rocket launcher is, then it’s OK for it be both powerful and easy to use.
I also want vehicles to require some skill to kill. That way you have skilled operators being killed by skilled players, not everyone. That way you also have vehicles that don’t become ridiculous in the hands of any idiot.
Speaking of weapons, I want them to have places in the game. I have never liked that there was always a king gun in Halo. I prefer weapons to have jobs they do well and others they do poorly, that way they all have a place. As it is, many weapons don’t have a place.
I want balanced maps. Maps where one team gets an extremely powerful vehicle on their spawn point and the other team has to run like hell to a more powerful vehicle that both teams have a pretty good shot at getting ARE NOT BALANCED! Maps where one team starts in the open on low ground and has to run for cover but the other is just a jump away from a high-traffic easily-defended location ARE NOT BALANCED.
More than anything though I will echo back to my comment about multiple ways to play. I don’t want you trying to design a game that will make me play a certain way. I want you to design a game that can be played legitimately in multiple ways. Give me a gun, give me a map, and give me some people to shoot who also have guns, and we’ll decide what we like, OK? Don’t think you know better what we like, because we number in the millions and we don’t agree on a damn thing. If I want to camp, that’s legit. If I want to move, that’s legit. If they want those things, that’s legit.
“Faster” isn’t always better. “Movement” isn’t always better. What’s best is what players want, the customer is always right, so please please listen to your customers and don’t ever make a game with the same thought process that you used when you made Halo 4. Before you make another game, please fix Halo 4.

The DMR is the main reason why I avoid Matchmaking as much as possible. Even in custom games there’s hardly an escape from it thanks to custom loadouts.
I do not think that halo 4 sucks but i agree with hiccup. My only issue with halo 4 is the dmr. If it was balanced then it would make the game sooooo much harder for people who have been using it from day 1. I know others hate stuff like flinching, but in my personal opinion, the dmr is the only reason that this game seem like it caters to the player that sees you first. If your getting hit by a br, you know it because you have time to get away out flank

I want them to go back to the Halo 2 or 3 esque gameplay and evolve that, not stupid Reach. But since that is probably too difficult to make happen I hate the DMR the loadouts the entire perks system and pretty much anything they ripped straight from cod without twisting it into a unique Halo version…

You are precluding the possibility that this is my primary complaint about Halo 4 (and Reach,3,2,CE).
I have an entire testament on why this game sucks. Not to mention, its lacking too many things…also…LOOK DOWN.

Except that’s a problem with the community, not the game itself. You don’t need to come on these forums to enjoy Halo 4. Also he asked for no arguments which your comment would instigate. So no actually your issue isn’t one with the game, but the community. You have misunderstood, I dont mean that they actually have control of the mechanics of the game.
What I mean is that, the players manifest the surrounding environment of the game. They make it fun, competitive, loved etc etc, and it really has nothing to do with settings, pick-up powers or ordnance drops.
Its the players who make the game what it is.

- Unable to change vote in Matchmaking lobby map selection
- Flood can’t hold weapons
- Massive glitches on so many maps and huge bugs
- Ordinances are random and unbalanced
- Not enough selection or originality in armour customisations
- Jetpack is under-powered
- Thruster is pointless
- Not enough maps with the initial game and too much DLC
- Too much focus on competitive play and too much encouraging to be an MLG Prozac. Example: Under the custom games section it’s entitled “Custom Games: Play COMPETITIVE custom games”
- File share system STILL not fixed
- Permanent sprint is insufferable. Changes the entire dynamic to multiplayer
- No one flag CTF for custom games
- Custom games overall is a mess.
- No assault
- No invasion
- No Firefight
- Challenges are generic and unoriginal
- Some maps are overly unbalanced
- Haven is unbalanced with initial spawn points
- Mechs are over-powered and should be removed
- You can’t drop the flag when you’re carrying the flag. It’s permanently stuck on you, leaving you unbalanced and vulnerable to attack
- Nobody cares about Grifball, and nobody ever will. Stop forcing this on us.
- Forge maps, too small and not enough items. I’ve created massive, great maps on Forge World in Reach easily. Tried to re-create them on Halo 4, not enough items, on any of the maps.
- The magnets on forge suck
- Glitch on Ravine where if you go into monitor mode on forge, and grind up against the left side of the map against the cliff in a certain area, the entire cliff area becomes invisible. Map is broken.
- Ranking system on Halo 4 is an abomination. the SR-levels still makes literally no sense and isn’t fully explained. The ranking is based on how much you have played, and NOT on how many games you have won and done well in. Bring back skill rank lv 50 system from Halo 3
- K/d counter for custom games
- No social playlist that excludes you from k/d counting on service record. That means I can’t have fun and die a lot, without looking like a bad gamer. I want to be able to mess around and have action sack and fun playlists. But all we’ve gotten so far is some terrible, god-awful sponsorship -Yoink!- gaming challenge nobody cares about
And overall 343, you just haven’t thought the game through. It’s been rushed, it wasn’t beta tested like Reach was. You refuse to reply or even listen to any of our concerns and complaints. I highly doubt this post will even get a serious response. Halo has gone the way of Call of Duty and Battlefield. You clearly haven’t done a test on the workings on the game, otherwise you would have released an actually good product, which Halo 4 CAN be if you actually TRIED.
If you turn Halo into a yearly instalment like Call of Duty, I’m done with this once-great series.
I disagree with anyone that says the DMR is unfair. The fact of the matter is if you dont have the skill to use the gun then it just means you are not good at the game or you have sucky internet. SUCK IT UP NOOBS. Also you cant complain because the DMR and BR are both 5 headshot guns.
Now on to my personal rant. I love the concept of forerunner weapons and am really glad for them being in matchmaking. But I think 343 screwed things up A LOT when the made a secondary weapon(BOLTSHOT) more powerful and have more range than a power weapon, say(SHOTGUN,HAMMER, and the quickness of SWORD). They need to lesson the range of this secondary weapon so that things are balanced again. Oh and also what is up with the HAMMER hitting people and flinging them into the air without killing them???
