I’m enjoying the gameplay overall, but I really, really do not like the motion sensor. It’s less useful, and almost more of a distraction, a liability; rather than an asset. Why degrade and over-complicate such a fundamental element of gameplay? The motion sensor has always worked the same until 343 made this change in Halo 5. Halo Reach added the elevation detection, but did not change the core functionality.
The motion sensor is a core element of Halo gameplay, as fundamental as the energy shield. Devolving it like this alters the gameplay on a fundamental level and makes it more like COD than Halo.
I think the skill based match making needs some work?
More XP easier Progression, guys we are paying for a battlepass, we got to feel like we are doing something with our time and money,
I feel like the progression system is too slow, going Several games at a time with NO XP GAIN,
Hell i may be a minority when it comes to battle passes but i would like to see in Future Battle passes some sort of in-game credits to use in the shop on occasion(( from my experience with some of Epic games andt heir battle passes, i think they did it REALLY WELL here )) as it stands i believe In the pass’ current iteration, its Too slow, and almost unrewarding
I would hope to also see the return of Warzone and Warzone fire fight, the PVP/PVE modes from Halo 5 guardians,
This whole battle pass progression is completely garbage. You should get exp/points whenever playing a match regardless if you complete a challenge. the progression is just too slow. I mean you can’t who was the idiot that thought of this? I mean you make primary way of getting points challenges and then you can’t even view or track them in game and sometimes get maps that don’t even have that weapon or vehicle on it… it’s so stupid. I get they want people to just spend money to unlock lvls and that’s the whole reason they did this and why they made mp free beting on people just paying to unlock stuff. but that’s such shittty business practice and the profession system and battle pass as a whole is just a really crap system. they also need more customization options. my opinion may be the minority but I loved the way in halo 5 there was all these different variants of the same guns with forerunner tech scopes and muzels it was cool. they need to have additional unlocks and options to customize the weapons like that too and be able to purchase individual armor pieces and coatings so you can ge get exactly what you want like in reach and you should be able to apply that to any core armor and not restrict it and need to get sets its such a freaking scam paying $20 for an armor set. when I before you would buy $60 game get campaign and multi-player and then be able to unlock customizations without paying extra. now you gotta spend $60 for the campaign and then 1/3 of that for just one armor set?? absolutely bulllshitt. would make this million times better imo. also my biggest gripe aside from the progession is the lack of specified Playlist. when I do btb I don’t always want it to be random what if I just wanted to do slayer? they need to have more and the spawn time for the heavy vehicles like tanks and air vehicles is way too slow. they should have a btb mode with like just tons of vehicles spwaning. that’s also why I kinda liked the req system too but thst was also shady making people buy req packs. this game can be so good and fun. but there’s so much stuff they need to improve. first and foremost If they don’t change the progression this game won’t even last a couple months.
I agree the radar in this is absolutely garbage and useless. most of the time I don’t see anyone pop up on the radar until they are literally on top of me. it’s terrible and needs to change asap
the battle pass is ok in my eyes, HOWEVER the biggest issue that i see Is its too -Yoink!- slow, no xp from games only from the pass, hell i think they should take a que from fortnite here, yes yu want wahts in the pass Buy it, or use rewards(( credits in the pass)) to buy the next one, at the very least , add the currency to the passes
Small nitpicks since most people have already stated most of what I have problems with.
-Emblem on armor gets covered by most chest attachments. Should probably be moved to some other part of the armor or placed on top of some of the attachments. Don’t really care about this one too much, but thought it should be brought up as someone might care about it.
-Get rid of the bucket handle on Jun’s helmet attachment. It wasn’t there in Reach, doesn’t need to be there now. It just looks silly and serves no purpose.
Also feel like it bears repeating, the microtransactions are really bad. $20 for an armor set? That’s literally the price of 2 season passes. It is not worth it at all.
Copy Halo 3 style team balancing. Same size / number of premade groups on each team.
Have separate playlists by launch ( slayer, doubles, snipers, HCS/MLG ect. ).
Ability to rejoin games
BATTLEPASS / PROGRESSION
Progression system with mixed rank and XP.
Meaningful progression, not just a number.
Use XP from progression system to progress battlepass. ( This would fix the XP boost issue by having it work on both systems ).
Other comments
Core gameplay is awesome. The feel of the game is defiantly a step in the right direction over halo 4 and 5. I hope the progression system will be closer to halo 3 with meaningful ranks and farther from halo 5 with its numbered system. Players need at least a minimal set of statistics such wins/ highest rank viewable on their profile. I personally couldn’t care less about the battle pass and cosmetics, however, I would like the ability to earn credits towards purchasing a battlepass by playing the game ( similar to Apex Legends ). Also, I’m not a fan of the halo 5 seasonal and placement style ranked system or the bronze - onyx ranks but Its not important as long as the matchmaking is BALANCED and there are a wide variety of playlists to rank up in. Also the ability for players to rejoin ranked and social games would be a huge improvement. The dev team has really done a great job creating a good feeling halo game, now hopefully it isn’t wasted with poor design decisions.
The audio desync bug is still prevalent but rare
The new 4v4 maps specifically the ones that looks like china town and street will have a chance to crash upon respawning (happened to me and my bud) (not quite sure if it’s a fireteam bug that causes it)
There is a bug where textures will be stretched to sky limit and you literally can’t see anything
All the bugs I listed can be fixed by rebooting the game
Loading times on my PC are abysmal and have turned me completely off from playing Infinite unless it’s somehow fixed. The game is also incredibly buggy and crashes constantly. Back to the MCC for me.
I have some feedback for console, but I’m sure I’ll forget something.
Progression:
Give XP for match completions.
Award more XP for challenge completions.
Allow the challenges to pop up when we complete them like MCC does. Could be a toggle.
Customization:
Allow us to mismatch armor.
Give more options with the armor cores like letting us use more emblems for example.
Lower the prices for armor and armor bundles.
Arena:
Need more game modes to play. Swat, Infection, Elimination for example.
Take Slayer out of Quick Play and have it be its own playlist.
1 Flag on Launch Site is too big for 4’s. It feels empty and has lots of downtime.
The bots in the bots playlist are too easy. I would make their difficulty one higher.
Hopefully, we can get more maps at launch.
Big Team Battle:
Having only 3 maps is not acceptable. Hopefully, we’ll get more at launch.
More gametypes would be nice.
Heavy vehicles like tanks need to spawn in sooner. I still haven’t seen a tank yet.
The Ghost still feels like it has too much health.
I think the Warthog and Wasp could use a little health buff.
I could mention the issues with the maps, but I don’t think anything will change with them
Weapons:
The Sidekick feels better since the flights.
The Hydra shoots a bit too slow and its tracking isn’t the greatest.
The rocket launcher takes too long to be able to shoot it after you pick it up.
The Disruptor takes too long to kill someone.
The Sentinel Beam is hard to keep the reticle on targets
The Commando is still a bit hard to control with the recoil.
Misc:
The aim for me on controller is still a bit odd. I can put it on the lowest sens settings, but it will still feel slippery out of red reticle range and windmilly in up close gun fights. I’ve found an okay setting for now, but it could still use improvement.
I think the scoreboard should have the winning team on top like has been in previous Halos.
More personal stats would be nice like k/d for example.
There needs to be an easier way to mute people while in the game.
More variety themes with the maps would be nice. The majority of the maps are UNSC themed and some of them are in those soulless industry type areas which I haven’t been a fan of since H5. We need more Forerunner, Banished and Sangheili themed maps.
-In addition Infinite needs a very robust Commendation system with rewards for reaching Max rank and maybe certain lower ranks like H5, but a much larger system. Commendations are a great supplemental way to earn rewards and for showing off accomplishments.
-Bring back or build a much better emblem customization system.
-Would like to see the ability to apply coatings on separate armor pieces instead of just a blanket armor coating. This way you can actually build a unique Spartan
-Add rewards for more past game accomplishments. The Halo universe is 20 years old and had a ton of achievements over the years. Only having two rewards for reaching Rank 152 and completing three campaigns on Legendary is extremely light. There should be several more rewards for all different levels of achievement completion.
Battle Pass should have 2-5 currency drops per season, other games do this and it’s a pretty good bonus. Save up to buy another pass or save and buy items from the store.
