It just seems fun to know where they would put all of the Halo’s in the franchise in order from their most favorite all the way to their least favorite.
Here’s my list:
Halo CEA (CEA counts for CE, mostly the same, just with terminals and skulls.)
Halo Reach (Though I sometimes wish it was about Master Chief Petty Officer of the Navy John-117 before Halo CE, might have made the game much more popular.)
Halo 3 (Because I spent so much time online with it)
Halo 1 (Because I spent so much time LANing it) (CEA is great too, love everything about it besides the lag on online co-op)
Halo 2 (It should be a tie for me between 1 and 2 since I had LAN parties for both, but I did more so with 1)
ODST (I clocked in a lot of hours in firefight, but I was angry that I payed full price for a game I already had and a 4 hour campaign disc with no competitive multiplayer)
Halo Wars (I used to be real big into RTS games and I was happy to see Halo branded on one, but initially the ranking system was too hard, and Legendary solo was insanity)
Reach (Worst game in the series in my opinion, they catered too much to the casual players and CoD fanboys and completely abandoned the lineage of traditional Halo gameplay, there is not enough space here to voice my disgust with Reach and I am boycotting any future games made by Bungie. I still play it though, because it’s the only Halo left where I can find a game any time of the day)
Reach. This game from day 1, E3 2009 captivated my eyes and every neuron in my head was just firing Reach, Reach, Reach. This game has been a fun part of my life for two and a half years.
Halo 3. It was my first Halo game on my own Xbox. While I didn’t cut my teeth on Halo on this game, I did cut my teeth in the online world of Xbox.
ODST. I picked it up release day. I’ll admit, when I first knew about it I was like…ewgh, CoD-Esque Halo?! But then I found out once I played it, it was nothing like that. Best campaign in the series for me. Firefight in this is better than Reach IMO. Proud 3-time champ of Endure.
Halo 1/CEA. I remember when I was a just a wee boy along side my pre-teen brother, our cousin told us about this game called ‘Halo’ and it was super awesome. We went to house, we saw, our faces were melted.
Halo Wars. Only thing I like about this game is the soundtrack. The RTS thing don’t work for me at all.
Halo 2. Never played it, having watched campaign on Youtube, I have no intention of playing it also. The very definition of a rushed and crap covered gold egg.
Halo 3
What a great way to end the trilogy. Decent campaign and four player co-op support was pretty cool. The introduction of Theater mode was amazing and one of the best features in the game.
Halo 3: ODST
Good campaign, great use of the characters and voice actors. Firefight was addictive, fun with friends yet competitive. Endure count: Eight
Halo Reach
The swansong and one amazing campaign. Having read the novel I knew the Covenant are going to glass the planet, but when I was playing the game I wanted to save Reach. I had that feeling that I could save Reach no matter how bad things got. Seeing my version of Noble Six going MIA was powerful yet personal. The multiplayer section is still not perfect, but Halo 4 will be out this year, so I’ll put up with the problems until then.
Halo: Combat Evolved/Anniversary
What a way to start a franchise. Ten years ago, it just blew me away. Ten years later, the gameplay is still yet to age but the frame rate issues in HD mode are disappointing.
Halo 2
Terrible graphics that popped up everywhere and then multiplayer was so broken with bugs and glitches such as players using stand by, at least the soundtrack was good.
Halo Wars
I hate real time strategy games. No, let me re-phrase that. I really hate real time strategy games.
Mind you, I play halo primarily for the campaign with my wife and brother…although I put a couple days worth of time on matchmaking…
Halo CEA
Halo Reach
Halo Odst
Halo 3
Halo 2
