List of things that need to change in Halo 5

Some things that need to be changed in/added to/ removed from Halo 5. Not everything is totally my opinion, these are just examples of things that people may want to be different.

  • Ground Pound. The ground pound should be removed. This really shouldn’t be in halo.- Clambering. This should be removed, clambering could be a problem if someone is trying to get headshots.- Dashing. Also not necessary. Many people are already not happy with being able to sprint, let alone dashing. In custom games you will be able to turn off the things listed above.
  • Firefight/Coop. These could be added in, personally I like playing coop.- HUD/Visor Color. A nice idea I heard was that the HUD will have the color/tint of the visor color you pick. Probably won’t make it into the game because having a certain visor color will give you an advantage.- Gamemodes with set amount of lives. Breakout is a good example of this. Here you only have one life, this could also be fun with other weapons. Or another idea is a gamemode where your team has 20 lives. The last team surviving wins.- Weapons. Nerf the Assault Rifle, it is almost like Halo 4’s SAW. If the Incineration Cannon comes back, maybe make the explosion smaller, 5 explosions is too much.Time to kill shouldn’t be short.- 4-Player splitscreen. This is what Halo makes so special, being able to play with 3 friends. Many games leave out this feature but let Halo 5 be that special game which still has it.- Armor. Some armor unlocked with credits that you get by playing games. Also other armor unlocked by certain achievements.- Loadouts. I believe 343 has already mentioned it somewhere but I think the loadouts should always be pre-set. Custom loadouts can give you an unfair advantage. I also think that Ordnance drops shouldn’t be in the game but 343 has already said this, I believe.- Shield. It’s a good concept that your shield doesn’t recharge while you sprint. But if you started sprinting in the beta, the meter that indicated how long you would have to wait for your shields to recharge, started over. I think it should continue from where it was before you started sprinting.- Vehicles. Please don’t abandon vehicle gameplay, it was already less in Halo 4.- Skill. Enlarge the skill gap. Halo 4 was really noob friendly. The skill-gap shouldn’t be too big but not as small as for example Call of Duty.- Redicle in middle of screen. In the Halo 5 beta the redicle was in the middle of the screen, while in all other halo’s, except CE, the redicle was slightly down. What do you guys think about this? Is this a problem for you?Edit: Redicle in middle of screen.

So take out Spartan Abilities, which aren’t going anywhere, and add stuff that will most likely be in the final game besides 4 player split screen? I think 343 has this game well under control.

I admit ground pound was difficult to use. But it was fun when I go it the work. And a pretty good way to soften guys who a clumped below you and your out of grenades for your team to finish off if you corrdinate.

I love clambering and have always stated sense freaking golden eye. “If my hands can reach it, I should be able to pull my self up. It’s realistic. A effing box or medium wall should not be blocking streamline movement. I had to do training of running over objects and climbing walls in the Army, I’m a highly skilled fighter in The game. This stupid wall I can see over but can’t jump over should not be stopping me”

Dashing was clunky in H4 but is was better in H5. Adding fast pace strategy to firefights.
“My mag ran out but if I dash into him and melee, it’ll finish the guy off.”
“Crap I just got ambushed by 2 guys but cover it right to my left Dash In cover and exfilling from a bad situation that would’ve killed me Halo 1-Reach.”
“I need to cover ground faster to get the rockets. sprint-dash-sprint-dash-sprint, grab roackets, double kill

And I really enjoyed breakout. Reminded me of a fast pace Counter-strike. Now we need to plant bombs and rescue prisoners and we’ll be set. And when you get 3 other friends playing with you. The sound of you all working together in white nuckle controller crunching action created a ton of fun amazing moments is wish I was smart enough to record

Alright, maybe the spartan abilities shouldn’t all be removed, the game doesn’t need to be slow.
But I’m not a fan of the ground pound.

So you’re not a fan of a skill demanding new ability?

Not a fan of an ability which kills or takes down shields in a single hit without being a weapon and which also recharges fairly quickly. But I will give it a try.

Bro, you can take shields down and/or kill I’m one hit with melee and hitting people in vehicles, and those are much easier to use than ground pound. It takes a while to charge up and get ready and the aiming is no cake walk either. Not to mention you can also kill the guy mid-ground pound. I’m pretty sure they did a fine job with balancing it.

You’re right, but I’m still sceptical about it.
I hope they did a good job balancing it.
Will ground pounding be in every gamemode? I think that ground pounding doesn’t fit SWAT for example.

Uh… Melee? Should we ask for that to be removed too?

I agree with ground pound, I honestly don’t even understand why it’s in the game. It adds nothing to it, just allows people to get one by melee kills besides assassinations.

But it I actually like the thrusters. I think that adds to the skill gap. Strafing now has an extra element to it.

bullet magnetism especially on the BR needs to be toned down a lot though. Halo 4 has ridiculous bullet mag. Hopefully 343 will learn…

First person to agree! You’re right about the thrusters, those can probably be left in. And I know right, about the magnetism! I recently watched a video of BDobbinsFTW where he showed how strong the magnetism is in Halo 4, it’s insane.

Not many people here will agree with you honestly. I would recommend making an account on teambeyond. That is where the real competitive halo players post. Think you would like it over there.

this place is more of a casual forum, where a lot of people don’t care about a skill gap.

which there is nothing wrong with that if that’s your cup of tea.

Search up and read one of the bigger old sprint threads. The competitive fans are here too. They’re just hibernating.

Yes, but they get drowned out by the OMG sprint doesn’t ruin halo, we have to change the forumla to be a good game series. Or my personal favorite I don’t want a halo 2.5.

I hope this thread won’t get de railed now.

Everything on that list should be in the game. Halo 5 is fine the way it is.

I’m pretty sure it’ll be available at all times for all players. Breakout was just like SWAT, but with only one life and more variety of weapons, and ground pound was fine in it. Like I said, you make yourself a big target when you charge up the ground pound. The way I’ve seen it implemented, it’s perfectly balanced. What I can’t wait for is how it will work against vehicles like the hog. I don’t imagine it would completely destroy it, but I want to see some epic moments where a guy ground pounds the front of the hog and it does an epic front flip over the guy. That would be SWEET!

Just want to point out that your argument for ground pound, dash, and clamber aren’t strong, nor competent. Only thing I think needs to change in Halo 5 is having your reticule move with the barrel of your gun, giving you an approximate location of bullet impact while on the move.

That’s a good point, it would be interesting to see what it does to vehicles.
