List of ideas for halo 5

I’m not asking for all or any of these to be implemented, though i feel that these things could definitely benefit the game, some of these have already existed in halo, some are from other games. some of these may be difficult for the devloper to achieve, though this is just some ideas.

  1. A ping system - In halo there have been many people complain about the lack of mics. Personally even though it would be nice for all to be communicating, i still feel that even with the x1s new features it will be unrealistic to ask some players to get mics so people can communicate.

My solution for this would be to implement a ping system where players can ping a specific player a maximum of 3 times per 10 seconds, this would help with people not searching in teams to communicate without having to implement random or unfair changes to the games functions. because of certain players being immature there would be an in-game option to ping mute players, creating the option of mute, ping mute and mute both. the button i was thinking of using for the ping system would be up on the d-pad for ease of use.

  1. Custom game spectate - There have been many times where players want to sit out a game or spectate a game taking place.

My solution for this would be to implement a team spectate and a neutral spectate, so if players only want that spectate a specific team they can, or if players want to be able spectators to neutrally spectate that would be possible aswell.

  1. Matchmaking spectate - There have been times when players want to view a friends game taking place and watch his PoV.

This idea was generally brought about after i played League of Legends, though i’m not fond of Moba’s, i feel like i am spectating games quite often and using that feature often, there have been many moments while waiting for a person i know to finish and i feel that this feature could offer a unique perspective that has not been seen before in halo, i would still feel the need to cap the amount of spectators per game though, aswell as a 30 sec-1 min game delay.

  1. Clans - this was in halo 2, many people have asked for it’s return, and many AAA games have developed features for group based gameplay

just introduce a clan leaderboard or some visible feature that will help distinguish different groups through some performance algorithm, a MM playlist and maybe even a group reward system for things such as longevity, win ratio etc.

  1. Player reward system - Commendations in halos MM are pretty mediocre. there are many single player fans that don’t want MM achievements, while i am not in that camp i do believe the ‘commendations’ system could be improved to allow for achievement-esque challenges. One of the big points for a lot of fans liking customization were the vidmaster challenges, having these somewhat difficult, sometimes group based challenges, could be a much better way to improve the commendation system, aswell as having other things already featured within reach/halo 4.

  2. better theatre system that features video editing aswell as multiple people being able to watch a film, aswell as maybe a crude montage creator

  3. a better custom games system, halo 3 seems to be the only game which features small dynamic objects that can be moved around by players and vehicles, there also needs to be more in-depth gametype editor which would allow for more custom game options

  4. a thing that resembles bungie favourites, obviously the name wouldn’t remain, though it allowed for popular things created to be featured in it’s own section giving certain players more incentive to enjoy the game differently

  5. custom game search - this would allow for players to find custom gams they want to join, i would also implement a regional filter alongside a searh that would enable players to find specific gametypes

  6. a ranking system - i’m uncertain as to whether doing an annual divisional system or 1-50, either one a working one would be nice in the next game

  7. A tutorial mode which would allow for players to learn some key gameplay mechanics and a better understanding of the games sandbox and key concepts such as positioning, control, weapon timing, spawn control etc, which would allow players to further their in-game knowledge aswell as being a good intro for new players.

  8. a leaderboard system - this would allow players to view many different stats of their gameplay, what i would like to see is a halocharts/halotracker app that can be opened from the games menu to allow for much easier access to these leaderboards via the game itself.

These are just some ideas, feels free to come up with some other suggestions.

These should remedy most of their problems.

Forge- More creativity(although fine editing and zoom must come back along with actual new objects, or at least the option for different textures)

Custom Games- Usually someone to play with. With the improvement of Forge we should see more great gametypes and maps.

Firefight sadly in this thread has not been covered

Spectators can watch the games without getting their hands dirty, JiP, or waiting on a black screen.

Clans- more competitiveness and more challenge.

Game Completers- MOAR things to do!

MLG- more competitive Halo.

Also need better player level gametype customization, which is lacking in Halo 4.
