Arena resets, happened twice. I’ve only played 3 matches so far. Kinda frustrated only match registered I lost.
Area stats just rest and now it won’t save any of my stats and to top it off I can’t even earn reck points to buy reckpacks .
Since there is no Split-Screen, most of my friends say they aren’t getting Halo 5 and are getting BO3 instead. Sad. Does BO3 have Split Screen? I think so. Big big mistake for taking away Solit Screen.
Please add more playlists and that’s really about it at this point.
I wish I had more control over my armor. I really don’t care for random drops through req packs.
I’m just disappointed with no LAN features and no other game types more than anything.
I know these could come in an update which is fine if they do, no one really plays LAN on day 1 anyway and the other games will probably come with forge.
Overall the game seems super good but only time will tell I guess.

> 343 ruined the halo game. 343 made it too similar to COD with its more you play the more you unlock bs. I shouldnt have to play 80 -Yoink!- hours a week to accrue REQ points. I should be able to login, pick a game type and play with preset weapons. Give the no life nerds a seperate game to play with that achievment. The maps suck, its too bland, cartoony, and no true random spawn points. You guys -Yoinked!- up by making this game a pay to play game. Where in the -Yoink- do you get off deciding nobody can play this game unless you have xbox live gold acct? True halo roots had forge multiplayer via cat 5 coords with multiple consoles. You guys really messed up with this bs greed to make more money. Wish bungie would put you greedy -Yoink- pos in your place for degrading the halo community. As for the -Yoinks!- who disagree and or have no complaints, go -Yoink- yourselves.
This i can agree with. This game was a complete disappointment
Yup, all the people that want to return it are going to get BO3 instead.

-Yoink- no
I paid 100$ for the Limited Edition… The stuff that happens in the trailers never happens in the game…
My problem is the way the game ended…and just the flow of the game in general -.-
Firs time Halo 5, defeat, second time victory, COLOMBIA LEGENDARY
I wish people would remember the halo 3 and reach days…so much machinima, so many writers back when the machinima channel actually produced machinima. but now I’m not too sure if 343i is really catering to the creative community. Sure, we get forge…in December! And how can we produce machinima now? being in one location on one console is a convenience for the body actors and the director. I’m just not too sure how to feel about the lack of customization. choose an armor set and a helmet, no accessories, accents, or emblems readily available for you to choose and color as you wish but if you even want to play with your poor friend, you’re going to have to tell him to get out of your house and get that xbox one. We are looking at the crippling of the creative side of the halo community, which is what makes the community stand out from other franchises.
Wow…I can not express how awful 343 did on this…
The few +'s this game takes away is the beauty of the graphics and mechanics of campaign gameplay…
Here is the real issue…you took away the one thing everyone has fell in love with and associated with and you can guess it…MASTER CHIEF.
Who the hell thought it was a good idea to make the game 79% locke and osiris??? Again, just absolute disappointment. I’m an average gamer and can deal with sucking at multiplayer…-Yoink- spawns…getting crushed in maps I don’t know but to ruin the story by having that guy as the main character…franchise suicide.
I have defended to this day this is the greatest story ever told. Even better than freakin STAR WARS…but this campaign felt like reading 7 chapters in a 15 chapter novel…ending was bland and no connection to chief or blue team. Christ, the first few books were about them…and…nothing in the story gives you that “struggle through family bonds” sense except when Buck…says…“They’re a family…”
You did a beautiful job on halo 4 and failed horrible at connecting to the audience with this one.
if you have one more game to go…make it about chief or please spare us the terrible ending you have in mind regarding spartan locke and the over paid voice talent that drove this horrible campaign experience.
If you feel the same…please for the love of resurrecting Master Chief…respond…
Need 25m radar lol

Lol, I’m kidding. That’s why you guys are playing Halo.
Everything I had just reset!!! What the hell 343i?? Fix this asap!! You said you’ll listen to your people? Well, LISTEN TO THEMMMM???
25 m radar as well, this radar is complete trash!!!
Annnnnnd, a day in and rank system seems to have died entirely…
GG 343i… GG
TL;DR; where’s the rest of the game?
Okay, so I’m gonna go into details about why I think Halo 5 was a disappointment. Be warned: a lot of the things I say will be very controversial.
The Story
So right off the bat, we’re told that Halo 5 will be about fireteam Osiris hunting down Blue Team amidst the Guardians wrecking havok on entire planets. This giant manhunt that will be jaw dropping. The mystery behind the Guardians. I’ve read plenty of fascinating theories about what they are, who’s controlling them, why they’re here, etc.
What we got was a segmented, plot hole ridden, incohesive narrative that failed to live up to its name, then ended in the most cheap and obnoxious unsatisfying cliff hanger I’ve ever encountered.
The mystery of the Guardians is perhaps the most infuriating element of the plot. The fact that not only does it basically throw away much of the buildup in Halo 4 in regards to the Ur-Didact, (yes I know he got composed and that’s ALSO infuriating.) the Prometheans, and more by making CORTANA the antagonist and seemingly forgetting about the direction that was being taken (you know, HUMANITY -Yoink- YEAH MANTLE OF RESPONSIBILITY stuff) and making it a clone of Hyperion Cantos. Like, I’m all for twists. But they can’t come out of nowhere and contradict foreshadowing from the previous game and seem cheap. Like, Cortana died. Her death had so much symbolism and significance in the story and it’s a shame that they took that, turned it inside out, and made her a rampancy-cured but somehow still rampant power hungry psychopath. Not to mention how poorly she was introduced as an antagonist. Then there’s Jul’s premature death and Halsey’s amnesia of how she was almost assassinated. Jul was gaining so much significance in the plot and to kill him off in such a cheap manner when he had so much potential, that’s just bad writing. Here’s a list of plot holes
- How exactly did Cortana access the domain if it was DESTROYED when the Halo array fired, being a precursor artifact? Like, what??? This plothole is so severe since the ENTIRE conflict revolves around it - I’m no fan of Palmer and I’m not disappointed by this plothole, but what happened to her unreasonable hatred of Halsey? Did she have like an epiphany or something?
The campaign mechanics and structure
My biggest gripe is that the campaign is not single player friendly. I’m interested in the story. The last thing that I want is my friends screwing aroubd while I try to immerse myself in the narrative. But when the campaign is designed specifically for bringing friends, it becomes very frustrating. There’s all these alternate paths and strategies that are really only effective when there’s more than one player because the friendly AI is still quite limited and they follow you literally everywhere. So if you wanted to flank the enemy, you couldn’t because your AI squad members are incapable of consistently following the commands.
REQ packs implementation
One of the things that I just can’t stand is that everything is unlocked via REQ packs. Literally everything. So if I want a specific helmet, I have to keep grinding REQ points until I can buy another pack that might have the helmet I want. It probably won’t though. There’s no sense of challenge. You no longer “earn” a customization item. And that’s infuriating, and worst of all, it makes the microtransactions all the more enticing.
Casual gamers are all locked into Warzone
I’m a casual gamer who loves the traditional equal starts formula of Arena. I’m not compatible by any means. I’m also not really liking Warzone. So I’m sidelinned. The Arena playlists are purely catered to the competitive community, forcing me to play with competitive players who “don’t know how to have fun” in order to get that traditional Halo sandbox. That sucks for me. This could have easily been prevented by adding a social playlist to the Arena mode, but as of now, no such playlist exists. I’m caught in the crossfire between casual and competitive and it’s not an enjoyable place to be.
"Custom" games
When I first booted up Halo 5, I jumped right into custom games to see how I could play around with the various gametypes and options to make something awesome while I wait for Forge. What I found was disturbing: most of the gametypes were missing, and more than half of the gametypes options were missing. Infinite ammo, random weapon starts, loadouts, weapons on map, appearance, etc. Basically the only things that I could control was the Spartan abilities. That was it. It’s like they only added options that the competitive community would use, leaving gamers like me to rot. It’s like half of it is missing. Perhaps they’ll add more to custom games when Forge launches in 2 months, but I’m not confident in that. (Just look at Halo 4. They managed to make custom games even less flexible than those “options.”)
Delayed/missing content
Forge, big team battle, the rest of the Custom games options, the file browser, split-screen, you name it. Where is everything else? Why are things being delayed or removed like this? It’s reckless and frustrating. Inexcusable. When I spend $60 on a game, I expect it to be finished. Clearly, Halo 5 is not finished. There’s a long list of features that are simply gone or delayed. Features that I was looking forward to. Now I’m stuck with replaying the campaign and
killing the Warden Eternal 600 times with nonfunctional AI squadmates who literally walk into his big -Yoinking!- swordagain and again, grinding in Warzone, of getting stomped on in Arena. It’s shallow and underwhelming.
A disappointment, at the very least. This is not what I was thinking of when I spent my $60.
