.) More sound effects to coincide with all the mayhem that takes place in some of the story missions. The levels seem too quiet for all the dogfights and explosions that are happening in the distance. It sounds similar to having your console set to 5.1 surround sound, while listening through a stereo device.
.) Revives in Warzone. I feel like all the mayhem that has ever existed in Halo titles past, on much smaller maps, is still present. This shouldn’t be in the open map. People are literally dying, being sent back to the spawn zone and running 3000 yards back to their objective, getting shot in the face by a rocket, spawning back at the base, not making it to said base, getting ran over by a ghost and attempting to run 3000 yards back to the objective…rinse, wash and repeat. When a game approaches this scale, like Battlefield, you need a revive option…otherwise, your time is spent just running.
.) Graphics are jaggy. At first I thought it was a lack of anti-aliasing, but then I determined that while the picture output is indeed 1080p, the texture resolution must be at 720p…effectively, a “faked 1080p.” I can do the same thing in a PC game by setting my display res to 1080p, but using low quality textures. Two things can correct this…either, use native(or higher) resolution textures, or up the post processing to minimize jaggies.
.) Armor color customization is as boring as Halo’s past. For instance, it is not possible to have Locke’s armor sheen in multiplayer because everything is matte and drab. In Mass Effect, you can control how your armor appears under lighting. You can make it reflective, semi-reflective, matte and you can also choose the base material look – carbon fiber, brushed metal, scratched/ pitted metal, as well as controlling the tint of your base color by overlaying your primary color with a tinted color of any choice. Also, you can control the secondary color pattern e.g. make it camo patterned, striped, etc. This is the sort of “next gen” customization I’d love to see in a Halo game. There are also not enough gradients to choose from…for instance, where is Master Chief’s olive green color option? Instead, everything is so ridiculously color popping and bright. There are no muted tones. I couldn’t create a copper tan color, or a “true violet,” which borders on blue. I feel even Halo 4 had better colors to choose from
.) Allow our own colored armor in Warzone. There’s no need for Red Vs. Blue in Warzone. Just highlight each team in their corresponding colors, like other games do. Have your friends show up as a bright cyan color and the enemy team have no color and you will instantly know that the person who is not highlighted as a friendly, is a baddy. If this is for some reason still confusing to people, throw in an appropriately colored arm band to confirm colors. Keep Red Vs. Blue for arena and allow us our custom looks. This doesn’t seem to affect any other games. Crysis doesn’t paint players in red or blue. I get it…RvB is a huge deal in the Halo community. I love the RvB shows, even…but it affects customization. The only way you can truly express yourself, is by some animated visor. Besides, if we are trying to even remotely push PVE, we need our customization options. Red vs. Blue is just spelling out “multiplayer death match.”
