So for anyone who doesn’t know me I have a tendency to complain about Halo 4 but really I am on the fence on weather I will like the game or not, There are many improvements and also some potential mistakes.
Let’s face it 343 and Microsoft are far from perfect we all are. So I thought It would be interesting to see what people liked and disliked about the game in lists of three.
In simple, name three things you like and three things you dislike about Halo 4!
Hopefully this will help us as a community and 343 as a studio get better insight into what concerns and views the waypoint community have on certain topics.
Oh, and let’s remember to be respectful of people views, so here are my lists, feel free to use it as a template.
> Thing’s I like about Halo 4
> - Increased movement and jump height and reduction of strafe acceleration should create a larger skill gap.
> - Sprint has been made a standard utility, and has been modified to prevent abuse.
> - The studio seem well motivated and are passionate about creating a new Halo experience.
>
> Thing’s I dislike or are concerned about in Halo 4
> - Lacking a visual skill based ranking system. Call me a whatever you want I am good at the game and proud of it, I like my bragging rights. Although I do agree that Trueskill may not have been the best solution.
> - The Lack of external testing. I never liked the Reach beta however I do feel Halo 4 need more external hand’s on testing, so external feedback can be provided.
> - Information release so far has been “unclear” and could have been managed better to prevent arguments and confusion.
“We’re not ready to talk about that just yet.”
“You’ll hear about it soon.” (3 months later, nothing)
“Very few sleeps until information.” (5 months later, nothing)
“We can’t wait to share information with you.”
“We’ll talk about it in the not-so-distant future.” (2 months later, nothing)
My personal favorite: Reveals new game mechanic that could easily be taken for a gameplay-destroying feature Fans get upset, demanding details
“Yeah… we’re just not ready to talk about it quite yet. But we can’t wait to share it with you!”
Far more annoying than anything they can put in the game.
SPRINT - the one I dislike the most. It simply ruins the flow of Halo’s gameplay.
AA’s - spawning with abilities, should have been made pickups from the beginning
Progression system/“modifications” - not fair to new players and unbalances gameplay
Like
BR returning - although I hope they make it a 4-shot
Strafe’s looking nice
Hitscan

Way to overexaggerate everything dude. When they said only a few sleeps left until more info, literally 3 days later we got a ton of stuff. Shows you have no idea what you’re talking about.

THIS!
And a few other dislikes:
Marketing (explained above)
The loss of 1-50
The new BR
I feel dissapointed with 343 they have lost my respect and loyalty
> Like-
> Spartan Ops
> That they didn’t get rid off the Energy Sword
> You can’t say much because we haven’t had a lot of stuff said about it.
>
> Dislike-
> The possibility of no Elites as playable characters in MP
?
So you like that 343 are dragging it out? And that they deliberately wind people up?
Sure the marketing strategy works but it is really annoying

I dislike:
-Pointless changes in canon such as the new Unggoy look and the new Mk. VI look
-The way gameplay is being re-imagined
-The discontinuation of Dual-Wield
I like:
-The way 343 seems to be handling the continuation of the story, cant wait to play campaign
-The graphics are heavenly
-The return John and Cortana as main characters

They’ve been saying the stuff I quoted for months prior to this increase in information. Which you should probably use advisedly considering in spite of a gameinformer article, a spot on a popular talkshow, and months worth of Bulletins we STILL have no idea how any of this new stuff affects gameplay.
Likes
Standard Sprint
Fast movement and high jumps
Removal of health bar
Dislikes
Kills seemingly being worth more then 1 point. I find this to be incredibly stupid.
5 shot kill BR, it should be a 4 shot like it always was
6 shot Magnum with bloom sounds awful. It should have no bloom, and a 12 bullet clip.
Zealots. 343 have provided an explanation for Grunts but they haven’t clarified on what the Zealots in H4 will be (field masters or the ones led by Field Marshals?). Game Informer identifies the red Elites as Zealots so I’m worried that the they’re the latter.
pistol. I already said why in a dozen other posts.
difficulty emphasis. H3 did a little balancing but only for the Jackal Snipers. The other enemies were jittery and damage sponges (health determined by rank is a poor concept. Shields should be the only difference unless there’s diversity in form i.e. Jackals, Skirmishers). While Reach went overboard and made things harder by giving enemies advantages and making the player and his allies worsened.
The three things I am concerned about correspond to my CE preferences, which had fun gold Zealots, a useful pistol, and fun, balanced, but smart and responsive enemies and powerful weapons.
