Linking gametypes to maps

Anyone ever forget what gametype goes with what map?
With this feature, you could connect a gametype to a map, and whenever you select a map, you could press right on the d-pad and then there would be a list of connected/related gametypes. Its a small thing, but it would be nice to have everything to start a game right there, ya know?

Instead of having to either wait for the description to appear or reading what it is, then backing out and going to the game, you could just select the map then choose a game from the list of gametypes you had “linked” to the map by using a “tag” system similar to Reach, only you could tag it with a single letter and it would be confined to your hard drive.

For instance, all gametypes tagged by the letter “G” would show up in a list behind the map named “Ghost Town”.

I hope 343 see this. You’re right, it’s a small thing, but it’d be incredibly helpful. The file system always felt a little disorganised to me in Halo Reach.

Yes, please.

There needs to be named folders, I had over 200 Forge World maps in Reach. It was just so overwhelming. :frowning:

Would definitely be a nice feature. However, some map/gametype creators use the “description” section to say what the file goes with which works okay usually. And yes, organization could be improved. It takes a stupid amount of time to load the map options sometimes when you’ve got a lot.

day after bump

I actually really like this idea. Maybe a list of recommended gametypes for each map file that works the same way as the map recommendation system works in the file browser.

A very unique, simple, and helpful idea.

I’ve been wanting that.

I use the description as well, but this system would be much easier.
