Limited Edition seems less and less..exciting

Now, don’t get me wrong, I am excited for Halo 4 and all that. I preordered the Limited Edition when it was first released, since it seemed like a good deal at the time.

Now, it seems like it is getting less and less “Limited” due to different variates being released left and right. Let me explain…

The game disc in a steel facade case with a stenciled UNSC device on it.

No big deal for me. It will just sit with my other game cases and get dusty.

War Games Map Pack; nine maps that will be included in a future DLC.

This is one of my first qualms. This is one of the big reasons I bought the LE, get the maps. Yet, now, I could have bought the Standard Edition, and now the Season Pass and still save.

Eh.

Instant access to Specializations.

Lie, since no one gets them until you reach Level 50, if you do.

UNSC Infinity Briefing Packet including MJOLNIR armor schematics, weapon information and a layout of the indoctrination of the SPARTAN-IVs.

This will be an interesting one time read, but after that, it will sit with my case. Will be on Halo Wiki

The 90-minute extended edition of the ViDoc, Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.

… Which is through Waypoint, will most likely take forever to Stream, and cannot be transferred to other media devices (iPod). Yet, they are also releasing a separate DVD of it. Nice.

Exclusive armor permutations, emblems, SPARTAN skins and weapon skins.

Ok, this is alright. Yet, they will most likely be released as DLC items later.

Exclusive Assault Rifle Prime weapon skin.

See above.

Bonus in-fiction content providing backstory on characters and stories in Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn.

One time read, will be on Halo Wiki in a week.

The Making of Halo 4: Forward Unto Dawn. AND Special Featurette: Bringing Gaming to Reality.

Probably one of the few exclusive things that will remain exclusive, aside from Youtube videos.

Avatar Gear.

Won’t be used.

So, for $99, the only real “Exclusive” content we get are the Making of Videos, 1 time read Information packets, and Armor Perms/Skins/Avatar Gear which will most likely be sold as DLC later.

I’m iffy on actually paying that price now.

actually the emblems and skins prob wont be released outside of LE, because reach legendary had the flaming skull, it was not released to anyone but legendary editions

> actually the emblems and skins prob wont be released outside of LE, because reach legendary had the flaming skull, it was not released to anyone but legendary editions

343 said they were thinking of releasing them, which would be beyond dumb imo.

> actually the emblems and skins prob wont be released outside of LE, because reach legendary had the flaming skull, it was not released to anyone but legendary editions

Yet, they released something extremely similar with the Blue Flames, which many got.

Either way, Bungie and 343 are different companies, and they could have different ideas on selling those kind of things.

its not as similar as you would think my red flames are a lot brighter and larger and i hope they dont release the special armor we will be getting

With the specializations when a regular edition player gets to 50 they have can choose between 2 s. to begin with. The LE player can choose between 8 to begin with.

Also $60(game) + $30(DLC) + $10(Goodies) = $100 (LE Game)

Seems worth it to me.

So, you get the Making of Videos and 1 time read packets.

40 bucks for those? No.

Still, the details say “Immediate Access”…well, immediate as soon as you hit Level 50. Which depends on whether you even stay that long, and how hard it is.

Goodies are meh, not worth 10 dollars.

Yes yes, Halo Lore stuff is nice. But guess what? The Halsey journal is on the computer, I can read it here, take notes, highlight, all that fun stuff. And didn’t pay 40 dollars for it.

Same will be with the Information packets, schematics, etc.

Those goodies aren’t meant to be just sat on a shelf inside the box. Some people like me will actually put them on display like there are meant for… Im sorry you don’t get that

Who did you pre-order from mate? I pre-orderd from Amazon, originaly £65, now down to £61, and remember, the price will go down for you, but it legally can’t go up.

Well then, it is worth it for you. For me, 343 has let me down with the LE

why did you even make this thread?!?

It’s clear to see you already made your mind up before posting, and its painfully obvious no one can convince you it’s worth your money because you have already justified your perceived worth every piece of content in the damn thing!

i agree with you

I think it’s worth it, a lot of the stuff you mentioned you said would be on halo wikis and youtube, but the fact that you don’t have to get on your computer, enter the url, and look at a computer screen every time you want to read/watch it is nice. I guess… At least for me. You can have it right in front of you in a tangible form able to be read/watched whenever you want.

The exclusive content I hope stays exclusive, and those are all neat things to me. And I don’t know what this season pass you’re talking about, but the maps are what I’m most excited about.

A lot of it is fluff, though, and will be enjoyed more by big Halo fans, and just makes the experience a bit more enjoyable, besides the map packs, a much bigger thing which you’d have to buy for $30. I mean, you’re only paying $40 more, and I’d say $10 is a fair deal for the other things. I personally wish they’d come out with a Legendary Edition with some kind of statue or prop.

Grainger Games, says £75 on the site but in the store near me they still say its a unconfirmed price So I could still save some money as I put a deposit on one down at the store.

Last I heard, 343 were talking about releasing “preorder bonuses” into dlc. Not LE exclusive content.
